i am working on an audio-MIDI hybrid enveloper plugin called TriggerMod. it works fine for me and my electric guitar, but some users are having problems, and so far i'm not 100% sure what's going wrong. this plugin is especially useful if your host of choice can do specific plugin-to-plugin MIDI routing because it can output MIDI CC, thus allowing you to add tempo-synced (or not :)) ADSR modulation to any plugin that can be driven via CC. the MIDI-based triggering is already working as it should be, and i'm having good results with my tests using guitar and some drum loops, so i suspect it'll simply need some kind of gain control at the front of the signal chain to help allow for the varying levels that occur when you use hardware A vs hardware B. i'm also considering adding a level meter with a "threshold" indicator superimposed on it, but doing so will require a fair bit of work in Photoshop, so i'm gonna hold off at least until the audio-based triggering is properly debugged.
can anybody help me out on this one? it's freeware, so all i can promise you is a nod in the readme/help file and my undying gratitude.

Hey, wasn't someone asking for something like this just a few days ago? Here, lemme look. Bet whoever it was will be interested in trying it out. :-)

Found it! The person looking to a simple ADSR plug-in was l0gic0. I just sent a PM.

(At first blush I thought it was you, SleepyP! :-D

for some reason i thought he already found some other plug to use. this other guy called Luka also helped inspire this project, and was the first tester, but he hasn't been online in a few days, so i figured i'd post a proper request for beta testers. thanks meffy.
BTW, do you have a webpage for your fake/joke plugins? i seem to recall you made/posted a silly one that "applies transparency" or something. like "If you can hear it, it's not working!" :)

Ah. I didn't read the whole thread so missed that. Hope he or she doesn't mind being PM-ed. =9_9=

Heh, you remembered Transparency Preserver just about perfectly! :-D There's no page, I just whipped up the image in PS for the heck of it, using a knob I used to test KnobRender (which I MUST buy! It'd be useful in my medical/forensics software too).

The only real (as in "working") music program I've written in this millennium is Amphioxus Chord Organ, soon to be superceded by nuffink's infinitely superior ChordSpace. It's not a plug-in, but a very simple stand-alone MIDI signal generator you can hook up to a soft synth using MIDI Yoke or something similar. :-) My little addition to the world of virtual Hammonds, made for my own amusement. (Don't think anyone else ever asked to download it, which doesn't surprise me as it's no great shakes.)

hehe, that's cool. but to be honest, i don't think the Transparency Preserver is a good a value for my money as the Dead Quietenator, although i DO find that both can be helpful in certain mix situations... ;)

Post

Oh, man -- presets?! Mine doesn't have any presets. :-(

*brightens* Aha! But every Hallowe'en kids across the continent use TP to make homeowners' lives more interesting!

... gee, you don't think they mean something other than my Transparency Preserver, do you?
