Dunno if anyone was into the demoscene, and the MOD community way back when they were popular, but I just got Impulse Tracker up and running again under windows XP, and I've been having an amazing amount of nostalgic fun with it.
Now, back then I didn't have much music theory knowledge or anything, so I didn't compose anything remarkably listenable. I did, however, come to learn most of the intricacies of actually messing around in both trackers. Mostly, I leaned towards IT, since even though FT2 looked nicer, the interface was ass-backwards for me...
Anyways, just wondering what people's opinions on this stuff were back in the day.

I liked FT2 better, but probably only because by the time IT came about I was totally ingrained with working in FT2 and didn't really care to bother learning another tracker. IT did have the new note actions and resonant filter though, which made things a bit nicer. I lost all of my FT2 tunes and samples in a hard drive crash about 10 years ago, I'm still crushed, I wish CD writers were affordable back then, backing up a 8mb XM to floppy sucked so much I never did it. Guess I should have
