The Soundquality of FL Studio

I've been thinking about this for a long time... Are there really ANY hard, not opinion-based facts on this FLStudio issue? I mean, I'm using FLStudio 5, practically all of my sounds come from external VSTi:s and I use only some of FLStudio's better effects. Is there really some way that FLStudio just makes things sound worse than other sequencers, speaking of sound quality? I find the FLStudio working environment quite pleasant. Have tried some CUBase, but didn't see an advancement using that one.

Yesterday I was told that FLStudio adds noise to every mixer channel you add. Meaning, you would get an awfully blurry mix if you used all 64 channels. Any truth on this? If so, why haven't I ever heard this before?

You can check a couple of my newer tunes @ http://celluloid.oletustila.net and tell me is there something in the sound quality or whatever that you can blame on FLStudio. Don't bother with the older ones but listen to Stepgnome and Vyleeeem.

Please don't turn this into a "my sequencer is the best one"-fight. I'd like to hear facts.
If anyone wants to continue discussing this please do it here, but without wars because the wars can be the reason for closing this thread (I don´t know at all why the thread was closed, noone has attacked another with worse words or something and the thread hasn´t go offtopic alzo)

Now where were we in this discussion ? Ah yes, we were talking about NATO bombing raids, Serbian knife fights and the chemical analysis of ear wax.

Ooh... earwax :)

I love it when people talk dirty

No ew, this is a serious issue ! Too many people are always saying "I want to sound like a pro". But what they should be saying is: "I want to *hear* like a pro."

This new Aural Organics Minimizer is plenty expensive, but has settings to simulate old engineers with reduced frequency response, a rather severe "wax blockage" of opinionated young know-alls, and even something call "swim pro" which I think gives the effect of chlorine damage to the inner ear from pools !

I remember there are some on KvR who have used the AOM. Perhaps some users will tell us... ?

yes because you can't be taken seriously...like I said before, questioning the sound quality of an application that has been around as long as FL has is a waste of time. If the sound quality was all that bad FL wouldn't have even survived, let alone have the customer base it has...so what more is there to discuss? If 60,000 users aren't complaing about the sound quality and only you are (and a maybe few more), what do you think the chances of all those users being wrong and you being right?

The sound quality is fine, bear in mind that I'm much older then you and have used or sold every form of recording format there has been in the last 30 years. Trust me when I say that some of the greatest, most professional albums were recorded on gear that by today's standards is terrible quality (some people will disagree as they like analog, which is quite valid).

So I suggest instead of finding what's lacking in FL you look and see what's lacking in your knowledge and ability. The one fact alone that you said in the other thread, where you didn't even know after two years of use until this summer that you can use outside vsts tells me you have a lot to learn before you can judge...I give you good advice and you don't take it...so now I'll give up...

kids... that was one hell of a sentence

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

How can it sound good, it doesn't have 64bit summing. :hihi:

Why would anyone really want to war about fruity soundquality? That sinc interpolation option alone makes it awesome compared to most sampleplayback engines.
