Latency Compensation for Automation?

I wonder what can be done about the fairly big latency I'm seeing when automating parameters or modwheel etc. Is this something that is sequencer or plugin specific? Is this something that can be adjusted somehow? Is this something that is even being addressed or discussed or even viewed as a problem?

do you mean when using a hardware controller, or even if you draw the events in?

probably audio latency is a bit high ... you hear it late so you draw it late :)

Yeah, when I use my controller keyboard to automate knobs and faders in my sequencer.

No that's not it. I can see as well as hear that the knobs and faders are behind when I move a fader or modhweel on my keyboard. My audio latency is a perfect 2ms latency. From the time I touch a key to the time I hear it feels like 0ms latency. I guess the problem is really that there's a definate latency there. I'm wondering if there's a delay compensation of sorts that could make up for this, in real time.
