>>Genetic programming -- simulated annealing.

Exactly. I've done it before for videogame AI. As long as you don't mind a synth that thinks overnight. But once you have a preset, you have it forever.

I wrote the developer an e-mail and invited him to the Great Barbaric Yawp that is the KVR party. How does a non-GUI thang work in something like Sonar? I guess I'll find out - but it seems a bit intimidating.

Game AI? Wow. :-D Back in the late 80s I used this kind stuff for 3-D pattern recognition and image analysis. One of my favorite ways for telling how deep a technique is is to ask myself how many diverse areas of knowledge can apply or exploit it.

Post

Yeah. Did it twice. First for a Sega CD game. The AI had to be simple. It was coded and then the simulated annealing played the game all night (with the graphics turned off for speed). The evaluation function was the final score--except that I had to require a win by ten points for the newly-bred player to win, or else the games were irritatingly defensive.

Second time was for a PC game. It continued to learn as it played the human at home, updating the data tables on the hard drive.

Wow, this is in a contest with Sophia.
It's eating CPU for breakfast and I don't have a freaking clue what any of the parameters is doing at all.
Crying out "sample me!" loud though.

Those who can do maths and those who can't.

You can get some nice engine type sounds out of this. I just keep hitting randomize cause I can't even see all the knobs.

I think this is a keeper. :)

indeed. crazy looking in FL knobs to rival Voyager ( :hihi: )
the hammer parameter is pretty interesting.

First impressions ... Sci-fi, horror movie makers should love it ... Phat preset is killer

Melodic-wise, unusable?

At least it's innovative

I happen to think this thing sounds totally unique (= AMAZING!)
If it's free I'll use the hell out of it. If the GUI version cost money.. well I don't buy too much software these days... (G-rig sucked up my last spluge.)

Post

I was just innocently auditioning a couple of the presets when "horror" decided to bump my CPU up to 98% (without even hitting a single note and nothing else running in FL or anywhere on my computer) After a couple of failed attempts to get Task Manager open to quit the non-responsive program, I was forced to do a hard-reset... I think I'll pass on this one until it gets out of the beta range...

Here doesn't work with FLStudio.
I've sent an email to the author...
the wrapper doesn't load the plug and an error window appear.
Someone with the same problem???
