TSW Pro: missing soundset

Hi

I just installed TSW Pro.

When I try to launch a preset from the Moog bank I got an error, something like:

"soundsets/The Moog"

missing.

Where is this folder to be found? I have a Moog folder, but it has PRST files, no SND.

Speaking about the TSW Pro soundsets, I wish the pdf file was more detailed, which is a conscious way to underreact :-). For example, I made this folder structure (numbers for folder level):

1 TSW Pro Expansion 1
2 TSW Expansion 1
3 TSW Ex 1
3 TSW Ex 2
3 TSW Ex 3
....

1 TSW Pro Expansion 2
2 TSW Expansion 2
3 TSW Ex 1
3 TSW Ex 2
3 TSW Ex 3

I experience then that some of the presets can't find some files and say

"TSW Pro Expansions" not found, which makes me think that Wusik didn't expect I organized the folders that way.

Unfortunately there's more:

- I don't understand what to do of .bnk files, like for example HansM.rar , which turns out to be a .bnk.

Shall I convert it to v2? Or do I have the same bank in v2 format somewhere?
I tried the conversion but I all I got was an empty folder named "Bank"

I have had small problems with some Wusik folders before, but I have always been able to fix problems with little or no help. This time I've spent a couple of hours unzipping and moving files, but I still get many errors (missing files).

I hope you can help. I am for sure considering to order a dvd, if it comes with a one click installer.

TSW Pro is based on the Wusik v1 engine. If you use Wusik v2 and above, it will search for samples automatically (and yes, you can use Vox'd and TSW/Pro with Wusik with zero problems). Make sure presets have no trailing spaces - Wusik hates that and will give you errors (so no spaces before the .WusikPRST extension). Some presets have been known to have that problem - which is created by the wusik converter.

The wusik converter will convert .bnk files to their v2 counterparts. Just drag the .bnk file into the same directory as the converter batch file itself. Double click the batch file and you should see it working - if it finds something (the .bnk file) it will convert them and echo that to the screen. If all goes well, you will have a folder with .WusikPRST files in them. You can now discard the .bnk file and copy or move the new presets into the Wusik data / preset folder.

Let me know if you need further help, as I bought all of BITR's products and use them all the time (in Wusik - I never use their vsti's).

With TSW Pro you've got a lot of files and some might not be neccessary for you as the data package includes all data for WS1 and WS2 users. If you're Wusikstation V2 user, then just use the WS2 Presets archive and ignore all WS1 format Presets.

Place all TSW Pro Soundsets into your Wusikstation Soundsets folder and they should appear there. When downloading the data it's splitted into several smaller files, so put them together in the target folder (for instance TSW Expansion), you should have 4 of them and they can have subfolders, if you want. According to wusik.com the Wusikstation allows idividual folders as long as they are located in the SoundSets folder.

A Moog Soundset isn't included with TSW Pro, this is an EVE add-on but comes with Wusikstation Presets as the Soundsets can be loaded with Wusikstation when converting them with the Dash>Wusik converter.

I'm also confused about what to do with all the files I have through the TSW Pro upgrades (although I've still not been able to download five of the files).

I'd love to know how anyone has arranged her/his file structure with respect to WS/WS2/WS3 and the various soundsets included with them, with Vox'd and TSW Pro.

I guess it's an embarrassment of riches problem.

Thanks.

Yes, there is confusion when it comes to several WS versions. The WS2 Presets versions are included with TSW Pro, so if you're WS2 user you can ignore all BNK and fxb files, those are for WS1 users. I have no idea about WS3, but William can explain this right away in the wusik forum.

There is definitely no trouble when using TSW VST (WS1 format version), in this case just follow the PDF instructions and create the TSW Expansion and TSW Expansion 2 Soundsets folder and drop all Soundsets into the both folders. Vox'd comes with an auto-installer, so it should work instantly too.

But I understand that TSW Pro is mostly used with Wusikstation (WS1 or WS2) and in combination with other soundsets from several 3rd party developers. According to William the system should always work as long as all Soundsets are placed in the Soundsets folder. Let me know if this will not work in your system to locate any troublemaker there.

Thanks, KPR, that's certainly helpful information.

So: I have Wusikstation 2 (big package) loaded. I've also purchased the TSW Pro upgrade and have been sent download links to 27 files. Which of these are actually necessary to bring WS2 up to speed.

Then, when I unzip the files, where do they belong? Or should they be unzipped in a particular location to ensure proper placement?

Thanks. I'm trying to get everything properly situated in anticipation of Ethnotronics.

Wusikstation V3 is 100% compatible with all V2 presets and WusikSND files.

Dancer, make sure to get Vox'd as well - 100% awesome.

Hi Dancer,

Try this to install the files:

In the folder .\Wusikstation\Wusikstation DATA\SoundSets
Make two new folders "TSW Expansion" and "TSW Expansion2". Now unzip the zip files with the samples to this folders. The names of the zip files tell you what the sample files are.

Unzip the file bitr_TSW_Pro_WS_V2_version_Presets.zip
The zip files inside this file should be unzipped to:
.\Wusikstation\Wusikstation DATA\Presets

Now you still have some files left called ...presets_banks. Those are for version 1 of WS, so you don't need them.

Oke, it's nog so straight forward as could be, but I hope you manage.

Regards,
Bas

Thanks Bas.

I think I'm getting there, but I'm still waiting to download 5 sample zips from BITR. At some point I'll probably just be content with what I have and forget the rest.

The file download problem makes me wary of buying the Ethotronic package--I've been trying to finish TSW Pro for two weeks.

I'm very sorry for the download trouble, we're still try to solve this, but the server service makes a lot of unwelcome trouble since a while. Did you ask Julia for new download links? In any case we can send on CD though, of course we don't charge shipping costs.
