Well thank god you are here to put all those stupid people into their place with your superior insight and well thought out points!trn76 wrote:Wow... what some posters here do to prove what they know and can.
Well, I can just say that I've tried to get that great lead for my newest project, after spending a 2 whole days (more or less) fiddeling with all the greatest plugs for this kind (zeta, korg, vstation), why didnt I just use my TI at once? It sat right in, actually most presets(suited ones) just needed some eq and I was all set.
I really dont care what others say, maybe its just you guys that like other sound than I do, maybe its you who dont know what me and alot of other people like? I've tried all plugs there is, and there is nothing like it. - Sure there are lots of plugs that do incredible sound, that no TI can do....But there are no plugs that can do the TI. So just leave it, its not even funny to read more threads about it Very Happy
VSTis as good as hardware? Similar to Access Virus Quality?

That stuff is hard to achieve, but it's possible. I've heard it from a project A. Simper is working on (shocking stuff, demoed it to me back in April) and from an experiment that I'm propelling myself. It has something to do with shitting on the mathematical boundaries of filter coefficient calculation, so to get self oscillation that actually kind of like poos on incomming frequency spectrum.aciddose wrote:http://xhip.cjb.net/temp/public/analog.mp3
so which software can do this? i havent been able to find any that can do those filter sounds like my analogs.

So basically, you can't program a synth, and the virus TI presets happened to suit your project well.TRN76 wrote:I've tried to get that great lead for my newest project, after spending a 2 whole days (more or less) fiddeling with all the greatest plugs for this kind (zeta, korg, vstation), why didnt I just use my TI at once? Hence your conclusion is absolute rubbish.

urs; that mp3 is a sample of xhip. they all are. actually, it has to do with using a new type of filter design which doesnt exist anywhere else. it also has a lot to do with fixed point.
http://xhip.cjb.net/temp/public/xhiprip.mp3 <-- done in realtime.
i've never heard any software create the same sounds as accurately to actual analog filters before. i've tried some of the popular junk, it doesnt do it for me very well. they use junk like highly oversampled 4 lossy integrtors with tanh() between each. absolute shit
the quality is poor, not to mention the rediculous cpu use. i know some stuff like minimonsta 'can' do simmilar sounds, but there is so much cpu use on a monophonic voice it makes me cry.

oh and, cool trick you did with fooling us with the analog example.

i even fooled you? rofl.
you've just been using the damn thing, i cant decide if you're sarcastic or not.
i was going to act dumb about it until someone confronted me and asked which synth it was, but i couldnt do that, i'm not so cruel :P
toaster? does it take thick slices?

i love the pulse lead in that xhiprip mp3, reminds me of a lot of polysynth stuff on vinyl.

well you said "I havent been able to find any that can do those filter sounds like my analogs.".. with an example...
and I was fooled as I was reading Urs's post while listening.
as for sarcasm, that wasn't related to the analog example, but that cheesy wheel of fortune tune you posted. and it's hella cheesy.

Well, it does have properties commonly not found in software.aciddose wrote:urs; that mp3 is a sample of xhip. they all are. actually, it has to do with using a new type of filter design which doesnt exist anywhere else. it also has a lot to do with fixed point.
Just like my new (not yet published in any product) algorithm

i'm all about the cheese. i find it funny when i see guys trying to use synthesizers to make anything but cheese. its all they're good for. if you try to make some emotional stuff you'll just get laughed at.. look at trance music :P
the best synth stuff is major cheese, i wish i still had some of the porn themes i used to have. i had this one track, sounded like dukes of hazard fill in music with a moog mono line on top, awesome.
which one do you mean though, the xhiprip thing? it was some .mid file i had laying around, i have no idea where it's from. the cheesyness inspired me to render it with xhip though.
if you're talking about the other stuff, all i ever do is overdub cheese in realtime. i always though making music was supposed to be fun, so that is how i make it.
i wonder what the thread starter ment by 'access virus quality' in the first place anyway. should have said "pads like a virus" or "leads like a virus" or etc. "virus oscillators with the super saw" or "virus filter with... whatever it is it has".

started to quickly turn into a "YOU'LL NEVER FIND A VIRUS IN SOFTWARE" then "SOFTWARE ISNT HARDWARE, HARDWARE ISNT SOFTWARE", then etc as usual. ...and then shameless plugging by myself!

Please, give me a break here!
I guess some people cant understand anything, unless they read it. I ususally start off with patches close to what I want to archive.
Tweaking sounds for 2 days are so unusual? In that case, I guess I am just slow and too picky.
"So basically, you can't program a synth, and the virus TI presets happened to suit your project well."
So basically, you know how to toss out comments without even having an argument that mirrors the actual topic, or a reply to what I actually said.
Guess I missed the topic too, as aciddose just said.
