Eh? Looks like a filter effect to me....

It's a synth too - two versions of the DLL are supplied

FilterBank2

Tone2 FilterBank2 is more than a high-end quality stereo filter effect plugin. It is flexible, modular DSP unit which replaces a rack full of hardware. You can use it as synthesizer to create impressive sounds and unique textures or as effect unit to process your tracks.

OK, just based on the screenshot, where's the oscillator? ADSR? Stuff like that?...

I don't know about you, but my ears aren't much good for things like using a mouse (that is, using a mouse in order to tweak paramers that I have at least some vague concept of how they will affect the sound).

I don't wanna try the demo, I don't want to read the manual, all I want is to ask a simple question out of general curiosity and maybe get a simple straight forward answer without getting attacked! Jeeze.... I was just curious, I didn't really mean to get into it very deeply.

its defo not a traditional instrument, my guess is high resonance combined with distortion feedback will create something interesting to listen to

Take a look at the picture below:

Lfo nr 2 is used to drive the frequency of filter 1.

Lfo nr 1 is set to 'sine' and has input L&R as it's destination.
Whenever you set the 'destination' inside the lfo section to either 'input L&R', 'input L' or 'input R' Filterbank2 synth let's you use the lfo waves as static oscs.
There are different ways of sort of using an ADSR on it, the most obvious being by using the envelope.

I agree though, it's probably easier to try the demo out, there's only so much you can learn about an instrument by looking at pictures or specifications.

Hope that answers your questions

That makes sense, thanks!
