About normalization:SampleScience wrote:How about normalizing the samples? I always have to put a gain plugin so I can hear something when I use the FL Slicer with your drum loops. (thanks for the freebies by the way!)
Ah ok, it make sense, now I understand!herodotus wrote:About normalization:SampleScience wrote:How about normalizing the samples? I always have to put a gain plugin so I can hear something when I use the FL Slicer with your drum loops. (thanks for the freebies by the way!)
I normalize the session tracks that I cull loops from, but not the individual loops. This is so all the loops in each folder will be sonically consistent with each other.
So if you take a loop with a closed hihat and a sidestick at p it will be much quieter than a loop with rimshots and crash cymbals at ff.
Also, the drum loops might sound quiet because they have almost no compression on them. This gives the user greater control over the overall sound of the drums.
