cool. but I'm fairly sure the child busses are there even in SX2. (it's been a while so I'm not 100% sure)

check in VSTconnections by right clicking the quadro group. It'll make your life a whole lot easier, and you won't need the surroundpan for routing. :)
Thanks Kingston. I went to VST Connections, but the quadro group is not listed anywhere in the window. If I ever upgrade to SX3 (highly unlikely), I'll keep your tip in mind.

Thanks again,

Num

Are you sure? did you go through the tabs on top of the VST connections page?

Thank you. The only two tabs atop the VST Connections window are Input and Output, and no mention of Quad group.

ok. it's settled then. it's a feature only supported in sx3, and in sx2 one has to make due with the surroundpan.

For true sidechaining on a Mac the only plug I found was SideDyn from the Quantum FX package (http://www.db-audioware.com/quantum-fx-more.htm). Are there other plugs that can do the same for the Mac?
I'm playing air guitar, air drums & air keys.

sidebar: I've never once in my career making records sidechained a compressor, hardware or software. It doesn't make it less stupid that steinberg hasn't figured out how to code for it, but if you mix like me and most engineers I know, it's no big loss. There are very good engineers who sidechain all over the place, but not me.
Grist for the glamour mill.

(I should say, I've never printed a sidechained compressor. I've done the sidechaining, but have never felt like it did what I wanted.)

It seems that Rune (the originator of the video) has removed the site/video.
For spam reasons I don't want to publish his email adress here,
but you can find the contact info on his page here: http://www.otiumfx.com/
