FL studio vst and midi controller

I want to be able to use my midi controller with the FL7 as a vst.
The controller works fine when fruity loops is a standalone, but when i open it up as a vst, the midi controller functions do not work, and it gives me a warning sign telling me that the controller is all ready in use.
Basically i think its telling me that because my controller is active in Ableton( my host).

So how can i get my midi controller functions to work when FL7 is running as a VST.

i think you'd better ask it on looptalk , not sure if it is possible to control fl studio whilst in vsti mode , though i have never tried it
