Hello,

I want to buy a midi-controller-keyboard to use as a master keyboard, I already own a bcr2000 which I love ..so I have the knobs covered :) I just need the keys, preferably velocity sensitive and of a better quality then those plastic oxygen8 keys.

Do you guys know any good velocity sensitive midi-keyboards that work well (with Renoise) ?

At the moment I'm using a Roland Alpha Juno 1 as a masterkeyboard (I don't even have its outs connected to the mixer) which I want to sell. This'll prolly grant me around 200-300 euro's to spend on a midi-keyboard.

Cheers

Rico

For that money you could even get a full 88 keys controller. The M-Audio KS88es. Beware they're heavy as fuk and really big but it's sooo nice to have a full set of keys. Beware that the leet piano crowd will tell you it's action is no good but i loved mine. It does'nt have aftertouch either if that's important to you. Speaking of which. What is important to you ? It'll help narrowing down the field a bit.

You say the Oxygen8 is plastic. You don't like plastic keys in general or ae they particulary horrible ? Are the keys on the Juno fine ?

Well I never in my life have played a keyboard with aftertouch functionality, so can't say if I need it / miss it. The velocity sensitiveness is the most important thing right now, since the alpha juno isn't.

88 keys would ofcourse be the bomdiggity, in short anything with better key quality then the juno and the oxygen8 would be an improvement.

I think weighted keys for this money is out of the question, or?

209 euros.

EDIT: I just asumed it had the same keyboard as the KS88PRO but judging from thomanns descrption that might not be the case. I've never tried the ES version so i'm not sure about that. Still it's 88 keys.

That keystation is perfect, now I have to find someone interested in my Roland.
