I made a preset in at2 two weeks ago...
today I have 2 tracks in my daw, one with x-gear inserted, the other with at2. Both have this at2 preset loaded. All things being equal, as I go back and forth between the two tracks I find there is a marked difference.
wtf??

Maybe you have a different oversampling options on both?politcat wrote:I made a preset in at2 two weeks ago...

Check under preferences to see if they match.

a better idea is to post the preset so you can try it in at2 and x-gear for yourself.A3ntar wrote:Can you post an A/B sample?

I had X-Gear lose connection with my sound drivers. I'm using a Line6 Toneport as my soundcard. It has work with AT2 and ATJH flawlessly on their own. I had to reboot to fix it. It hasn't happened again, but it seems X-Gear may be much hungrier than the others on their own.

I confirm that the two sounds are different.politcat wrote:a better idea is to post the preset so you can try it in at2 and x-gear for yourself.A3ntar wrote:Can you post an A/B sample?

You know what I think? I think that XGear doesn't use the AT2 pak on your system but the one included with it, which might explain the difference in tonality.
