I am liking that strumming demo a lot.
I fail to see how other member's attempts at making the clean DI sound like acoustics is satisfactory. The rendered samples are really high-end heavy, and harsh on the ears, almost abrasive, while Rene's simulation, although high-end heavy as well, gives you and smoother, fuller and "rounder" sound.

From page 1:
Hi guitar players,
There will be a new amazing, never done before
VST plugin for electric guitar an
Acoustic guitar modeler,
but it needs a few helping hands for a closed beta testing.
1st B demo.mp3
http://www.mediafire.com/?viogzfc4u1a
1st dry DI, than the VST.
Only Ambience reverb added.
Here some strumming,
played by a friend with an acoustic guitar in mind.
http://www.mediafire.com/?ggmydmyiwew
Please keep in mind, the input signal came
from an electric guitar bridge humbucker.
If you are used to play electric guitar
as well as acoustic guitar, please apply by:
----------------------------------------------------------------
A:
Providing a dry/direct recording,
(Not normalized, recorded using a DI Box or Hi-z inputs)
playing your electric guitar just like an acoustic guitar.
(Finger picking and strumming ect.)
The recording should be 1-3 min long (mp3 at 192kbs or wav).
Simply play whatever you like with dynamics/feel.
You can use a single coin or humbucker pickup.
But it is very important to use the bridge pickup.
(Volume and tone control full open (max).
Also, please let me know the PU/guitar model you used.
You can upload the files here: http://www.mediafire.com/
Than send me the download link.
B:
Let me know the CPU and soundcard/DI Box and guitar/PU you used.
C:
Tune your guitars please.
Add your KVR name to the file/s you send.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The accepted beta testers will get the VST for free after its release.
(Beta versions will expire.)
The VST is Windows PC only atm.
If you are interrested please post here or PM me.
Thanks a lot !
Rene

On second thought, I won't be applying as a beta-tester. I have too many plugins and too few acoustic guitars! I'm meeting with a luthier tonight to get one made to my specs. Best of luck, Rene, on either coming out with a cool plugin or setting another record in pointless, neverending threads!
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Hey thanks. I'm on a Mac mainly too but I'll fire up the Windows in Parallels to use this (or just use another Windows box I have, depending on the system requirements).
Thanks again!

Hmm... Lots of things run great for me in Parallels here on my MacBook Pro and even on my Mac Mini. I'll give it a whirl.Midiworks wrote: Works in Parallels but all programs seams so slow...

Thanks I'm well aware of those but I won't reboot to go to Windows and Parallels works great for me, I'm not against open source but I'd rather just have something that like Parallels for this type of function (or VMWare Fusion which has been a huge player in this arena too and looks great).Midiworks wrote:http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/bootcamp.html
