can any one here make that sound ...
what should the individual layers sound like in solo ...
I mean ... is there a hi gain plus a crunchy and a deep bass ...
or do they have a less separated spectrum ...

Hi,
I dont listen to either of those two bands cause im cool and have good taste in music - but im in work and its slow - so heres some pearls of wisdom for free.
All guitar based music is based on a simply principal-
The right guitar with the right amp
recorded by the right mic(might even just be a SM58) at a good mic position
Plus fx
Fx
There a few different types of distortion - fuzz , overdrive etc
So if your recoding a squire strat through a boss ds-1 and then putting
straight in to your maudio soundcard its not going to have quite as much life......

one guitar left, one right, don't use too much distortion.

As far as My Chemical Romance's Welcome to the Black Parade is concerned, it contains 39 seperate guitar tracks - not all playing at the same time mind you. Here's a picture of the Pro Tools session view....

This picture and a detailed account of the mixing of the record is in this SoundOnSound article......
