I am pretty sure I did. I'll have to check just to make sure. Be back soon.

Well, resaving it in Wavosaur didn't work. It only recognizes the FIRST part of the loop points. Basically, the beginning of the loop imports as a marker, but not the end marker.

However, Wavosaur is able to create loop points and I did it that way, and Kontakt recognized them. So THAT is a good thing, and I don't have to buy another program at least. But the fact that Wavosaur is only seeing the first part of the markers makes me think I'm doing something wrong.

I turned loop mode on in Audition(can't seem to turn it OFF now either), but maybe I'm not using the right "loop mode"?

I love CE2k but this is now the second time Adobe have screwed me over with cross-grades [or a lack thereof] after acquiring companies so they can go and get f**ked as far as I'm concerned. Especially as SF has come a long way towards addressing its shortcomings in recent versions, otherwise I might have made the effort to regress my new laptop to XP so I could keep running CE2k.
Bones, yep, that's pretty crappy actually and I can't say I'm surprised. Let's see, Adobe acquire CEP and Sony acquire SF. Both are very capable editors, but they were both very capable even before the acquisitions.
It took me a long time to even consider buying Audition and they really tack on some money to the original price (a difference of $100 for Aussie buyers, even after exchange rates at the moment...and that's just the download version. Daylight robbery really).

Brent remember in AA cue points can also be Basic, Beat, Track or Index. Make sure they are on the proper one!

You turn off Loop Mode by going to Wave Properties and switching it to One Shot. Note that if the loop status was embedded by some outside tool or app it can be 'locked' into the file and will have to be changed in the orignal app.

CLT can also possibly help: http://www.stefanbion.de/cueltool/index.htm

I'm on Audition 3, and I can't find Wave Properties anywhere. The only mention of "loops" that I found is by going to the Options menu and turning on "Loop play mode".

I've possibly been doing it wrong, I just can't figure out how. I have tried ALL the marker types though, which there are five in Audition 3 it seems(although two make it appear as "cue").

I think the shortcut is ctrl-p or right mouse click "properties" :D

HOT DOG!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

My gosh, I've been searching ALL OVER for this, with posts in four different forums, and nobody mentioned this.

I was looking for properties, but the right click menu actually says "File info", which I THOUGHT was just like sample rate and stuff. Silly me.

But it's better than I thought. Not only can you turn it into a loopable sample file, it has an entire tab called "Sampler" where you can create multiple loops and control how they loop(couple of different options).

So it's not just creating markers, although the first loop you create will go by the timing of the first marker set. You have to take one extra step, which is more than fine because there are lots of options.

Regardless, this worked and you just made my night! I KNEW it had to be something I was missing because it just didn't seem right. Thanks again!

Brent, this is really funny. :hihi: You can't imagine how much times the same thing happened to me :D

Yes the sampler thing is really cool. I don't have audition, but in the past I used a lot this feature of CEP to create and loop the samples for my Akai S2000.

If you are into looping and do you want to spare some time I have another couple of shortcuts that can make you feel better :D I'm talking about:

ctrl-h
ctrl-j
ctrl-k
ctrl-l

So you have to find a perfect loop... Select the zone you want to loop, let it play as loop (with the "play loop" button or how is called) and then use the shortcuts above to adjust the loop. Give it a try :D

There's a good oscilloscope in CEP/Audition if you press ctrl-alt-del.
It's in the third tab of the window that appear LOL :D

Congrats Koolkeys! Looks like I've got one more argument for buying AA3 now. :)

Definitely! I was a little sad today when I saw that Wavosaur could do it but Audition couldn't. I KNEW I was missing something.

But as I said, it has quite a few options for loops. Try the demo and you'll see it's markers and looping and such are pretty good. Features actually DESIGNED for samplers instead of just the normal "cue points are recognized as loop points".

I told you about the file info / sampler loop thing on the Adobe forums hours ago! :)

:hihi: How many places did you post this Brent :D!

Now the next question is can the loop marking be scripted so it can be batched to many files? Now that would be amazing!!
