I am looking for a book or site that lists all sorts of Rhythm
patterns for different types of western music/world music
in Notation format "organized by category"(music genre).

Any good ones?

You might have some luck looking for drumming books. I swallowed my pride at one point and picked up Drumming for Dummies and it's not bad as a primer (assuming you're not already a drummer). It's very much based around a western approach to rhythm, so it's good for latin, jazz, funk, and rock, but not really for truly international styles.

I like this site too:

There's a book as well:

The downloadable package of midi files for different styles of international music that is informative--I bought it a couple of years ago and I learned a lot. It won't take you deep into any of the styles, of course, but it's not a bad jumping off point if you're trying to get inspired.
