Hi folks,

I always wonder how an arpeggiator work, what's is the rule or the grammar insdie the arpeggiator?

For an example, I tried many times to make a simple arp in FL studio (notes in piano roll then export the notes into a score) but it's never behave like the ones already exist in FL presets.

Same thing happens with workstations, I tried a lot with my Yamaha EX5... It's hard to understand the structure of an arpeggiator...

I'm sure there're many people here can help me to understand the behaviour of arp.

tha arp is oc defined classically as 'a chord played one note at a time'

there is no standard algorithm for electronic arpeggiators. the design and functionality will vary between implementations.
you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.

Most of it is just the key you pressed going up 1 octave for 2 or 3 or 4 times at w/e speed is set. Can't think of any VSTis that use more complex arps.
GENERATION 30: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment.

I can...

Now with improved MIDI jitter!

I didn't expect this reply from you, you're expert in this field & surely have a lot to say...

Maybe you didn't understand my question, I'm asking about the arp algorithm indeed. Because in some arps when hitting 1 note it gives a simple note series which is normall the same depressed note, but when hitting 2 or more notes the arp developes and get much complicated, running in 2 octaves, the rhythm becomes in 16th instead of 8th for example. Actually this only found in hardware synthesizers, and this is what I'm talking about..

When I try to build my arp, I can't get in depth to set the algorithm parameters. Is there any way to do that?!

Why not write the arp manually? That is what I always do. And I use an arp in nearly every work I have ever done.

Most arps arn't "up or down" Alot of times an arp is just a melodic pattern going a wee bit faster... [well, they can go slow, but i personally wouldn't classify it as an arp anymore] You have to be creative, not depends on your synth to make arpeggio for you. :D
