let me be honest. I like Kontakt about 10 million times more than I like ST... ok I exaggerate, but is there plans to translate the SonikSynth library to infinite player to run on Kontakt?

No plans to do that specifically. We made that product with IK to use that engine which is a great engine for that.zvenx wrote:let me be honest. But, we are doing all of our best synth sounds and more in Kontakt for the Infinite Player so you'll at least have sounds LIKE SS2 in there eventually... but you wan't have an exact SS2 in anything else but SampleTank format because of the effects, synthesis etc.

Well all you have to do is ask! That's why I'm here. Infinite Player IS a Kontakt Player product (there is no "Kontakt Player" that isn't some sound company's product). The difference here is that most sound company's Kontakt Player products are CLOSED to just those sounds. This one isn't. It's infinitely expandable... granted our deal with NI is that it is only for SR content or sounds that go through SR as the gateway but we had to make a huge commitment to it in order to be able to offer it this way and... well there you go!zvenx wrote:ok fair enough. thanks....must admit I dont get thwat infinite player is vs. kontakt 2 playerbut anyway.

It does do a few things other Kontakt Players haven't done in the past such as the ability to read our Rex files (not to mention Multi-track Rex files which no one has to my knowledge but us... certainly not time aligned anyway). Anyway, it's nice because you can also go in and take those rex files and play them in other things too. They're not NKX's like the wave samples are. A bonus feature I guess for things like Konstruction www.sonicreality.com/konstruction.php or Drum Masters www.sonicreality.com/drummasters.php

Sound effects you can PERFORM with? It's pretty darn awesome. It's like interactive foley. Or you can make your own monster noises like Lucas did for Star Wars (layering, altering pitches etc) or you can do some wicked sounds like Pink Floyd style dog barks and pigs or clocks or whatever or you can get some crazy electronic laser sounds for your DJ gig or ... a LOT of things! We're Serafine's distributor now. So we'll be selling all of it on esoundz in LE and Full versions so you can even get it for less than it normally is if you just want a selection of some of the best... or if you have the money you go for all of the full sized collections but that's going to be thousands so... we cater to both the "got hundreds" and the "got thousands" to spend producers.Rainman wrote:Now this is really intriguing, I'm dead serious, I'm totally fascinated with this concept.javascript:emoticon(':!:')Squids wrote:and you may also possibly like this: www.sonicreality.com/serafine.php

Oh, also Frank and I have been capturing impulse responses as well from all sorts of crazy places using one of these: www.holophone.com So that will also be available as well for the Infinite Player. An impulse response library of really cool ambiences.

Ah yes, the holophone, I'd forgotten about that, those crazy Canucks. That should be totally cool. Reminds me of the time we were setting up an out door gig and while testing the system we popped on DSOTM. There were a couple of dogs kicking back by the console. At the part where the footsteps come on the dogs suddenly perked up and started going crazy and taking off toward the speaker stack side where the footsteps were coming from. Well, if you're familiar with this section, you'll know that the sound crosses the stereo spectrum. Wouldn't you know it, half way there the dogs started wheeling over toward the other speaker stack as the sound moved across. We laughed ourselves silly. The dogs didn't think it was that funny but eventually calmed down.Squids wrote:Oh, also Frank and I have been capturing impulse responses as well from all sorts of crazy places using one of these: www.holophone.com So that will also be available as well for the Infinite Player. Also this too! www.sonicreality.com/cinemasessions.php
Demos coming to that page but here they are if you want to hear them now:
www.sonicreality.com/squidscorner/symphoniceffects.mp3
This one is a mix of Sonic Reality and Klaus Peter Rausch from BITR who we've worked with years ago to bring this out to you today. Orchestral wild take type stuff.
http://www.sonicreality.com/squidscorne ... ffects.mp3
This one is a collab with Qup Arts for 3D wooshes, drones and various distorted effects, beats etc. This is just a short demo only scratching the surface. Its not as long as the other two Cinema Session demos. We'll have more demos coming of this one.
www.sonicreality.com/squidscorner/globalatmosphere.mp3
This is another collab with Qup Arts that is kind of like a best of all of their "Voices of" titles plus additional "world" ambience and effects. Great for films or tribal influenced electronica, world beat and more.
All of this is for the Infinite Player! www.sonicreality.com/infiniteplayer.php and this is just the beginning. We have an infinite amount of material prepared over the last 7 years that you'll be able to buy from www.downloadablesoundz.com and through our dealer network that will carry our new Download Cards that are also being announced this week as well!
It's on! NAMM 2009. If you're around come see us in booth #6331

Of all of the new stuff I've heard about, this is the most exciting to me. I'm not a full production facility, but I'm all over this concept. I'm glad you're thinking of us in the pricing stucture, too. I probably couldn't justify a full set, as this looks very high end and expensive, but this is just the type of thing a person could build a collection of over time. I'm really hoping you have some Group Buy oppertunities.Squids wrote:Sound effects you can PERFORM with? It's pretty darn awesome. It's like interactive foley. I'm interested in hearing more about the Player. Will there be a way to create mapping, etc, so we can set up custom keyboard or pad controller set ups to create our own sound effects layouts ????
Edit,,, wow,,, I was writting this post before you posted the other stuff!!!
This stuff sounds GREAT Squids!!!

You can do custom mapping if you have full Kontakt software. We leave that open (some companies close it off for editing but we don't, it's just encrypted for the Infinite Player so you DO need that to use it in Kontakt because it is the copy protection gateway. But you have some amazing flexibility with this!)

Thanks Squids,,, being able to map them would be hugely important,,, guess I'm going to have to figure out a way to budget in Kontakt.
Any chance of a best of set for Sampletank??
