i've been meaning to remix this for while. finally got around to it. its probably one of the most true-to-the-original remixes that i've done. time-line-wise, i left many of justin's elements in-place. i dropped the wicked percussion, added a coupla basslines and a few other things. i mainly wanted to dub it out a bit.
thanks for the stems, justin. and thanks for such a beautiful track.
thanks for hosting, jazzy.

very very nice, mr tape! Love the squishiness of the "resurrected" sounding piano stems and the tensions that you've created when the obesity bass drops out for a few measures, etc... wonderful textures and not over-choreographed22tape wrote:i've been meaning to remix this for while. finally got around to it. its probably one of the most true-to-the-original remixes that i've done. time-line-wise, i left many of justin's elements in-place. i dropped the wicked percussion, added a coupla basslines and a few other things. i mainly wanted to dub it out a bit.

You've managed to convey the same sense of disjoint yet connected-ness in this version using a combination of excellent textures and suggestions of the original parts instead of those magikal 3am rhythm clouds
mighty tasty, indeed!...but I'd expect no less from the 22tape laboratory

very cool take on this, steve. especially considering you used ear-buds and whipped it up at work!shamann wrote:Here you go, first remix/remodel.
I quickly whipped up a slow steady take on some of the material. Can't vouch for the mix, as I did everything on earbuds with limited facilities available (I only keep a minimal install of stuff at work, just enough to entertain me when I need a break).

Always glad to put your stuff on the site. This is a wicked interpretation. Love the pronounced bass to this. The delay work is just fun. What the heck gear are you using these days, I never know if you are in or outside of the box anymore.22tape wrote:i've been meaning to remix this for while. finally got around to it. its probably one of the most true-to-the-original remixes that i've done. time-line-wise, i left many of justin's elements in-place. i dropped the wicked percussion, added a coupla basslines and a few other things. i mainly wanted to dub it out a bit.
