I don't want to speak for him too much and I think he will come back and post here again but he told me he will be happy to let others look at the programs and try to make corrections.
He really doesn't want a big hassle with this, though, so I think if people here can help sort this stuff out the synths may become available again.
I want everyone to know I'm not trying in any way to sabotage this gift that everyone is so thrilled about (I like them too) but if the volume surges have a chance of happening to more people it's the kind of thing we need to get fixed as soon as possible.
He has been answering emails sent here:

If you want to contact him to discuss working on the code, I'm sure he will be happy to talk with you about it.

well, I can help in bug tracking
I work as Java/J2EE Developer with quite big project that has about 4 years and actually half of my work is related with fixing bugs somewhere deep inside
I know it's not the same but sometimes a quick glance from another perspective can help too.
First of all I would contact with person(s) who had such loudness problems, asked about configuration, asked if all plugins are causing loudness problem or maybe one specific ? Then, If analyzing code / schematics won't help, I would just cut the functionality of such bugged plugin and give people (who experienced loudness bug) to test it.

Sorry to say I'm clueless at any level of programming (even SE) so I can't help much with that.
I can't remember if any other synths caused problems but the main one I had the issue with was Or2v.

@ A.M Gold,
Thanks for the heads up on the noise burst issue. I am also running
Tracktion 2. I plan/planned to test these plugin's this weekend.
Just a question, did you try to start a brand new project besides
the first one you mentioned where you discovered this issue?
I am curious if this happened due to a conflict with the other
VST's you had running. If it happens on a fresh project, say with only
the Eletrostudio VST's, then it would probably be a deal breaker.
Thanks!

Hey, Jerru. I did just load up the main one I've had problems with, Or2v, with nothing else in the edit but a drum track WAV and it worked fine for about the past five minutes. If there is a bad interaction, my main suspicion is the Refined Audiometrics CLAS plug because I've gotten quick pops from it before when loading some VSTi's.
I'm not really sure it has anything to do with Tracktion 2 per se. Beyond that, I can't really make any assurances, since other people have gotten the volume surge thing. My personal experience has only been the intensely loud distortion on loading or unloading the plug-in (and I can't remember if any other one but Or2v did it---that's the one I'd be most wary of, though). Loading also includes opening any edit where the plug-in is saved.
Hope that helps,
Dave

BTW, here's the list (I think) of the plug-ins I had loaded when I had the distortion:
CLAS, Redline Reverb demo, some Uhbik plugs, Breerbaart's RedPhat demo, IIEQ Pro, UAD 33609 & CE-1, Aether (in one instance, not in another). I think that's all but I'm not 100% sure.

I just had another very weird thing happen. I was using Or2v, this time with some of my usual plug-ins, and some new free ones from Melda. I didn't have CLAS this time or any Breerbaart stuff, nor did I have Aether. I had no problems. Then I deleted Or2v and started sequencing my analog synths. I did this without closing the project. At one point, I tried playback on a sequence that was routed out to the analogs and got something very similar to that horrible noise again, but this time it wasn't distorted, just sort of a SUPER loud metallic sort of white noise thing is the best I can describe it.
I have never had this kind of massive noise burst thing happen before trying the Elektrostudio synths but this time the synth had already been deleted! I then closed Tracktion, relaunched and reopened that project and it was making the same noise (and there were no audio producing plug-ins present, only effects, and it wasn't coming from my analog synths).
I deleted that project, then started another one using all the same effects, but not using any Elektrostudio synths, and things have been normal since then.

Try the same thing with OTHER SYNTHEDIT PLUGINS. I had something similar one time in the past without the Electrostudio plugins, but other Synthedit creations. Adding and removing several plugins in my DAW for testing, and suddenly the audio engine seemed to have crashed, leaving an awful noise. That seems to be something with Synthedit (or special modules of it) beeing not proper coded.A.M. Gold wrote:I just had another very weird thing happen......

I dont like to create double posts
but:
Announcement
1. Background
Elektrostudio Analog Pack is still a test version, some kind of alfa. The author (Elektrostudio) had no idea that someone made his download links public available. The fact is, that author just wanted to show these test plugins to few friends.
Well, eventually after future testing, bugfixing - Analog Pack would still be released free.
2. Current state.
It's not a big secret that current author, doesn't have enough time to do some bugfixing, support and future development. I contacted him and we all agreed that it'll be better if someone else will continue his work. This "someone else" guy is me. Since actually now, the official website will be http://www.vstcafe.com (there will be some subdomain added for sure) and I will be the Elektrostudio Analog Pack owner - the official contact, support email is: greeg@inbox.com
Feel free to ask questions, report bugs etc. I won't let those plugins die
3. Known Bugs:
The most critical is loudness noise that randomly occurs on some certain configurations. More info in ... this thread
4. Download Links:
I would like to ask (well, actually it's Elektrostudio's will) all services to remove their download links pointing to Elektrostudio Analog Pack. After some bugfixes it'll be freely available again.
5. I already have Analog Pack, do I need to delete it ?
Nope
It's just - use it at your own risk. If you use it for the first time, make sure that your speakers volume is set to low. Do your standard workflow (add some external tracks, plugins here and there) and If it'll work for like hmm 30 minutes then it should be ok. So far we have a "loudness noise" bug reports coming mainly from Tracktion2 users and Cubase 4.5.1.
Soon, the http://elektrostudio.ovh.org/ address will redirect to vstcafe.com

If you find any bugs - contact me via email : greeg@inbox.com, or write it just here. I check KVR every day

Yea, this is my guess too. I think it's screwing up the audio handling of the host---but this is a really extreme case. I actually have always had odd little audio drop-outs or pauses in playback with Synthedit synths, though I hardly use anything made with SE anymore so it's been a while since I've dealt with it. My gut feeling is you've hit the nail on the head, though.WOK wrote:Try the same thing with OTHER SYNTHEDIT PLUGINS. It would be great if you could just pick some random, SE synth and try to replicate this distortion. Or you could just pick elektrostudio synth BUT other than Or2V - for example SixthMonthJune, MicroMoon would be great. Or2V is pretty unique - it has two MidiToCV modules and this may cause unknown problems... After all , I believe that other plugins should work fine - at least without causing such heavy distortions

I've gotten the loud sound too in Or2V and one of the other ones, it sounds like a sine wave that increases in volume I'm pretty certain I've heard this sound before in other synthedit vsts the time that i got it tohappen the most was when i had a few of the plugins running at the same time, it'd always happen after i'd let go of the notes, it wouldn't crash anything it'd just get loud and I got it to eventually stop by hitting the stop button a few times
I remember hearing something awhile back about you can't use more than 2 synth
edit plugins at the same time or something?
the micromoog emu sounds great, & I'll probably end up using it alot the others didn't move me all that much, so far I haven't gotten any bugs with the moog
i use FL studio and the others reporting errors used different hosts so apparently it isn't a host issue
