Looking for recommendations for this kinda stuff. Online, apps, paper...
Books of proverbs, quotes, thesaurus, dictionaries, lyric writing guides - anything of that nature.

seriously, just read more books in general. increase your "word awareness". the more your mind deals with words the better it becomes at it.
or you could try one of those lyric writing guides so as all your songs sound the same as everyone else who reads the same guide
also, listen to petry recordings, especially of the beat poets, get an idea of words as rhythms.
IGNORE ME!
even on the odd occassion i record my lyrics, i process them so much no one has ever even mentioned them

rhymezone.com can help. I have Masterwriter, and it helps. But neither is the end all, just writing more often helps me. Trying stuff, letting it sit and revising (lyrics are not my main strength).

Recently found out about McGill Rhyming Dictionary - downloaded it, haven't used it yet.

Yep, I'm well aware you can't rely on computer algorithms for inspired lyrics. You can stop sniggering now thankyouverymuch
They might not be cool, but I'd love to have a list of every possible rhyme for that next couplet. Thx for the links peeps.

hehe d/w Duncan, I knew you were serious
Rooksby mentions one in his "song writing for guitar" book I'm reading atm. (along with the rhyming dictionary) An alliteration dictionary would differ from a normal dictionary in that it would lsit all the words with say B as the first consonant, rather than the first letter i believe, right?

Liptikl is a powerful "ideas generator" and is a welcome addition to the creative writer's s armoury of tools. It can help you come up with new ideas for lyrics and poems or indeed any other area of creative writing. Try it and see!
Liptikl draws on the Zen koan tradition in that there seems no obvious way it generates its ideas, and it is pronounced "lip - tickle".
Liptikl is created by Pete Cole and Tim Cole, creators of the 2001 BAFTA-award winning SSEYO Koan Interactive Audio Platform, and the 2005 BAFTA-award winning SSEYO miniMIXA.
