I gotta say Zircon, this product did NOT disappoint me in the least!!
This is exactly what I was looking for. I'm really loving the velocity mutes.

Ok I need to chime in.

This stuff is simply put amazing.

And I haven't even delved far into it.

Loaded up the master patch and them midi notes give me a guitar player

I'll seriously consider your other offerings when I have the cash and I hope you develop further into a successful sample offering company!

Cheers

I just got this, very cool so far but I can't seem to figure out how to import your amp sim settings. Can you tell me how to import the amp sim settings into NI Guitar Rig 4? Thanks!

Post

The GR4 preset can be loaded using your HOST'S preset functionality, since the preset file itself is in the "Cubase" all-purpose preset format. The exact method you would use to load depends on your host, but typically you'd be looking for something in the host's plugin wrapper.

Am I out of luck? I'm using Logic 9. And if so is there any way you could provide the GR4 patches in GR4 format or some other way? I really want to match the sound you got on your demos. :) Maybe like a Logic channelstrip setting?

Post

Any chance you could include a copy of GR4 with the Presets? :hihi:

Post

Hmm, according to Google Logic 9 does not load the FXP format. Not to worry, here's the same preset in Guitar Rig 4's native format (KSD)

Shreddage is amazing! This is exactly what i've been looking for. Its 10 times better then guitar libraries that costs 10 times more. =)
Do you think you might do a Lead Guitar library in the future?

Post

This is really tempting me, but I'm a bit confused what the actual sampling depth is. How many sampled levels of mute are there? Is there the same number for fast/staccato playing? How many sampled levels of dynamics are there? Do they all have 8x round robin?
Also, how convincing are non 1-5-1 dyads performed from the single note samples? The library would be far less useful to me if I couldn't eg throw in diminished fifths or add ninths seamlessly.
Does your round robin scripting eliminate sample repetition in patterns of notes that repeat as well as on consecutive single notes?
Thanks in advance.

1. Powerchords have tight mutes, full mutes and half mutes (meaning, half-sustained.) Regular sustains have tight and full mutes.

2. There are no dynamic layers in this library. It is intended to be used with hi-gain amps for rock and metal, and dynamics are basically non-existent in that context. Velocity is instead used to control the level of muting, and high velocities trigger pinch squeals.

3. Almost everything is sampled at 8x RR per note, with a few exceptions like whole tone slides (I think those are maybe 2-4x), full chokes (4x), etc. But all the important stuff like the mutes and sustains, as well as powerchord mutes and sustains, is 8x.

4. Since the library is recorded clean, any chord you play will sound quite natural through whatever amp you use.

5. The round robins are done via Kontakt's built-in RR functionality, so each RR group is triggered in the order that we programmed. If you play 8 notes in a row you will trigger RRs 1 through 8, sequentially.

That was quick, cheers! I think picking dynamics are massively important for shaping tone in this style (particularly when interacting with a cranked amp) so I'll look forward to the playable demo with an open mind, but I'll be passing for now.

Post

Fair enough: I can't give an estimate on when we will be releasing a demo version of the library since almost any method of limiting it would really hamper the playability. We might do a version of the master patch which only has 2 or 3 notes available, like E through G or something.
