Oh crap. I was already planning to buy the Woody Woodmansey Kit, but I REALLY want that Ringo Downbeat kit. That would serve my purposes for most projects. Can you please make that one available as a download? Even just the snare instrument, maybe? I'd gladly pay $50 for that snare alone.Squids wrote:For the tight dry 70's drum sounds you can do it a bit with current Drum Masters but actually EpiK DrumS has much more of that. Listen to these:

Well, each collection has its forte. This one isn't meant to go for the deadest of dead drum sounds. EpiK is more suited for that and the upcoming Signature Snares will have PLENTY of dead snares to add to your set up. It's hard because each kit sounds different and there are many different approaches. But, if you like what you hear in the demos I did for this GB then that's what you're going to get. If you like the dampened snare thing then there's a little of that but much MORE in things like EpiK and other kits.
As for a la carte kits... let's see. Right now we're looking at each drummer having one. The Woody is a must-have for that for sure. LOVE that kit! You will too. The Downbeat kit is another one to have even if it is as tight as... well I can't say what you guys say but that made me laugh. Plus it was recorded by Ken Scott who recorded The Beatles so it has a little novelty to it. You CAN get it in the full EpiK DrumS but as an a la carte download... maybe we'll do a limited time thing. We'll see. First we have to let everyone download THIS Group Buy and we've come up with a similar system as last time to be able to handle the bandwidth of 500+ people downloading at once. We're going to do it in just 2 or 3 phases max this time instead of more. One phase will have 15 of the 25 STm kits + 1,000 Groove Monkee midi grooves in iMap and GM, another phase will have the rest of the 25 kits plus the 150 impulses and SquidiMidi, then another phase will have the Multitrack kit choices and Infinite Player (right now it is 5 or 4+Infinite Player... but since we have until Friday it could be SIX so that phase will happen Friday night and you can download that over the weekend).
What we'll have to do for people who don't have the Infinite Player is let you request it and Allen will put it into your user account so you can get going with the first two phases (and that will keep you busy anyway). Then he'll give you a different redeem code that will let you choose the one less of Multitrack kits. It is a little tricky accommodating people that have IP and people that don't... we're still figuring out the most elegant way to do it! But for now we just need a reasonable way to do it without driving Allen and the support team insane... the BEST of course is for non-Infinite Player owners to just wait until Friday and do the whole thing over the weekend OR get the free DVD option and install it all in one shot - that is the easiest. This other stuff is just for the highly impatient.
You know who you are!!!! Haha.
Okay more news coming.

The Multitracks are juicy on this one:
So joining this group buy (before it is over on Friday) let's you choose (on top of the 25 STm kits) FIVE out of the following:
Infinite Player
NDV Premier MT Kit
NDV Gretsch MT Kit
JB Sonor MT Kit
NDV Blasticks Mapex MT Kit
Soul MT Kit
Bonzo Mt Kit
RingBeat MT Kit
British Rock MT Kit
Classic Rock MT kit
Chicago Blues MT Kit
That's pretty powerful for just $99! Don't miss this one!!!!! Remember if we hit 600 people then scratch what I just said and make it SIX choices from the above! 7 for 700, 8 for 800... good luck!

We're offering some of the EpiK kits a la carte. So the Woody kit on its own and maybe even the Downbeat kit.ebow wrote:well , the gb2 demos definitely sounded a lot tighter but then i heard 'abbey'Squids wrote:Well, each collection has its forte. But, by all means the Abbey Road kits look like fun to have too. Only difference is that our a la carte kits will be limited time and Abbey Road kits will probably be around for a while. But, for guys like you and Zedd (and myself) it's a good thing to have. Might as well.

Here are links to all the kits if you want to check them out and have a listen to them..
I also made a spreadsheet which shows the actual kit pieces in each(the sheet was made more as a reference for building your own hybrid kits from the STm pieces, but is still useful to see the hardware involved..it is divided into the 2 group buys by colour, but that can be ignored in this case since the MT kits available to choose from span both GBs).. that link is at the bottom.
