Hi,

I got ambient yesterday, nice application!

I really miss a finer control (I know its on the way) but also, I think is a must having control over midi or OSC (or both) there are just a bunch of parameters and that will not be hard!

You could control ambient wireless from the iphone/ipad with touchOSC, or from a MIDI controller. You'll get acces to various parameters simultaneously (thats something needed for my work), or even you could sequence or automate parameter changes using a sequencer...

The finer control is already there by pressing shift!

Version 3 has:

+ midi
+ clip meter
+ preset save
+ 270 degree knobs
+ smaller gui

its coming soon!

AMBIENT - V3: Out Now

v3 provides:

+ a random patch generator which can deliver some surprising results
+ clip/level meter
+ midi learn
+ preset save
+ press "shift" to gain fine movement and detailed increments on all dials

All customers of v1 & v2 will receive a free upgrade.

Each copy of AMBIENT contains a unique customer id/data tag allocated to your purchase and is not for redistribution.

Just to confirm, how possible (or likely) is something like a vst version?? That would be amazing if possible. Does the stand-alone support midi data? Sustain pedal, etc.?

I'll buy this if goes Max for Live for sure. Then us Ableton users can use it as a plug-in... sweet.
Probably even much less work than porting to mac from what I've heard!

I think it's just copying the code in and setting the interface. Looking forward to it!

Yes the MIDI learn should aid you to use the module with any midi piece of hardware with assignable controllers.

Sorry to hear about the payment problems - most people seem to be able to use the buy now buttons - but if you are having problems you can just send £10 to contact@audiobulb.com with instructions for what you are wanting MAC or PC.

The Live version will come.

Brilliant piece of software! I've been using non-stop since I received V3 last week! I'm having an issue with the midi learn function, however, in the fact that I can't get it to work....I've checked all my controllers with my other stand-alones and they are working fine. I've followed the instructions that pop up while in midi learn mode, yet receive no feedback---i'm sure i'm missing something(?)!
I'm on mac osx 10.5.8....any help would be appreciated!
Either way I'll be using this for ages...thank you!!

So here's an update on my previous post....just a few observations...

If I go into the package contents of the Ambient application, and open the ambient_v0.3.mxf file with Max, or Max runtime, I'm able to access the midi learn function, but unable to do so while using it in the standalone version....additionally, Ambient seems to want to compile a list of my available midi devices (albeit partial) while in midi learn mode under Max (or the runtime)....but doesn't while using the standalone.....

HOWEVER....while I gain control of midi while using max/runtime, the audio output is disabled (internal or soundcard)....

Maybe this all means something....perhaps not...
