If you excuse my crappy playing, what do you think?

Is this close enough to a JP8000? Or do you think it's still too much of a difference?

I have no JP, but a Virus TI and i must say, the Hypersaw(the better supersaw^^) sounds better.
But it belongs on the example also which detuning amount you use etc

This sounds like the Superwave synth. Did you use that?Urs wrote:If you excuse my crappy playing, what do you think?

No... I don't have that one. I've only had some fun experimenting with a new algorithm, maybe for Zebra, maybe for something else.mkdr wrote:This sounds like the Superwave synth. Did you use that?Urs wrote:If you excuse my crappy playing, what do you think?

oh can we start spreading the rumors that you are making a kind of a'dance' synth based on the zebra engine?
i bet it s allready gettin around;)
hey urs i have tried zebra & ace and love the sound but their are too much for me...
i ll start sweatin' when i see a modular !too many options i get lost..
but i m more into the zebralette from the sound &recording magazin...

To be a JP8000? Or to be a phat Supersaw?Kriminal wrote:doesnt sound thick/fat enough to me....
Note that this is all about the JP8000's Supersaw...

Nah, that's too early to say. It feels tempting though...EsmileZ wrote:oh can we start spreading the rumors that you are making a kind of a'dance' synth based on the zebra engine?

I don't know the JP8000 so I can't commend on that. I do know the supersaw on the latest Roland synths. Those are (a lot) thicker and fatter than this one

I can upload a demo of the JP's supersaw oscillator tomorrow if you like. Way too tired to do it now, as it involves getting up from this piece of furnitureUrs wrote:To be a JP8000? Or to be a phat Supersaw?Kriminal wrote:doesnt sound thick/fat enough to me....

EDIT: Also, the supersaw on the SH-201 is horrible, as are all the other waveforms on that thing, and it is missing sound shaping parameters, even if there is better modulation support. So sad to see Roland go backwards from 10 years ago.

The only hardware supersaw I've owned was the SH-201 and I'll say that this sounds much better to me, especially in the lower notes. I'd like to see this in Zebra.

Best way to say if it sounds JP-Like is to have it as mini plugin for testing

Why not go one better and make a 'Metasaw', a saw so powerful that it turns all your intstruments, the overall waveform of your mix, and your face into a fractally-layered, infinitely regressed saw wave, ultimately causing the destruction of the fabric of space time, because of the infinitely sharp edges of the saw tearing away at it and creating singularities. (Which could perhaps create whole new baby universes where the laws of physics are dictated by saw waves, and all dimensions are folded into a saw shape).
I'd buy that for a dollar
