It hasn't been too long, but hey I've done good for a spell. I'm trying (
) to do what dean SAID he was going to do and go till 2011 without anything. I certainly won't be doing any guitars!
Sonar x1 is probably going to be too hard to resist. It's a 99 buck upgrade from me currently un-used sonar package. I may change my mind though (which would mean going longer without any toys
) Reaper is doin' it for me.....and it's coming out with a new update which will be free for me!
I've thought about the ezmix expansion (though 29 bucks seems a bit steep still to me) but that's it afaik

Hope for us yet!
I've still been good but I'm probably going to jump on nerve. I'm just so tired of rmx and trying to find grooves that work (for all my esoteric/electronic stuff) and need a good sounding drum machine. Geist is too complex me thinks and besides, I can gas over that later
AND it won't cost me really anything as the money is already in my paypal account

Here's what i got this year so far:
* Ableton Live Suite 8
* Focusrite Saffire 6
* Sennheiser HD 280 Pro
* Guitar Rig 4 Pro
* Scarbee J Bass
* Massive
* Novation Launchpad X 2 (yay, waiting for those to arrive!)
I'm looking for a nice sound fx/percussion library, just to make sure i broke all the promises i made this year. Not sure yet, but gotta use one of those NI's coupons before they expire lol.

I did not buy the Toontrack Metalheads EZX - It has to wait until january period...As bad as i want it, i am sticking to my word
I turned 28 on the 17th and still did not buy anything even though i did actually play long and hard through an ENGL combo and then head/cab and really liked them - I just sort of thought 'yeah they are damned great amps and would fit me like a glove but then again i have got enough that gets me where i need/like to go to already'...instead of doing my usual and dumping a big deposit on one and returning a few days later to pick up the goods. I looked GAS in the eyes and it blinked before i did
Pretty happy with that one my friend and easily the biggest test to my 'not until new year' rule

If you are using them, those are some wise purchases (and they seem to be a telling story of focusDRS wrote:Here's what i got this year so far:

I'd spent the early morning today GASing over a synth on Ebay with a reasonable buy it now price. I didn't take it though, but wanted to think it over. Coming home shortly after lunch I decided to do it, but when I clicked on the auction, some dweebs had already started bidding and the buy it now was gone. Sigh..I'll keep an eye on it and see where it goes.

I was thinking about buying a stand-alone filter box the other day when I got a call from my friend/former co-worker...
I had given him my Line6 FM4 about 3 years ago because it was working intermittently and figured he was more handy with electronics than I, maybe he could fix it and get some use out of it. Turned out he couldn't fix it and worse, he was afraid he had broken it further because it no longer passed audio at all.
So yesterday he called to tell me about his new job at Line6 and to let me know he got my FM4 repaired! A trip to N. Hollywood and 4 carne-asada tacos later, I had my stomp box back. I'm so stoked.

Thanks! I want to think so hehehe. Kidding! In fact, you're right, as i bought each item as i needed them, in that order. I just got Sonic Fiction and True Strike Tension, so now i feel like i'm done (for this year, that is lol).hibidy wrote:If you are using them, those are some wise purchases (and they seem to be a telling story of focusDRS wrote:Here's what i got this year so far:

I'm really setting the expectations high with the 2 Launchpads, as most of my songs are done in Live's Session View. Can't wait to see how my workflow will improve (hope to finish way more tracks). We'll see!

except...
Audjoo Helix, Korg Wavestation and any other plugin that seems like a great deal.

Well the tacos were intended as payment for the repair but I also had four tacos. They're like tiny street-tacos though, I could eat six without blinking.Chuck E. Jesus wrote:you ate four tacos?
