I am using Ambience AU on Logic 6.3.3, G5 dual 2GHz OS X 10.3.1
The reverb time seems to be way out of proportion:
I can only move the fader from 0.00 to 1.00
However the reverb times are much longer
0.00 - 0.60 is about right (0 - 600ms)
0.70 is approx 1200ms
0,80 is approx 2000ms
0.90 is approx 4000ms
1.00 is approx 8000ms

Hi Pete,
It's correct that the fader behaves in this way. The AU version is not very well supported. The reason for this is because I don't have a Mac computer myself.
The AU port as well as the mac VST builds were all done by Marc @ Destroy FX. Porting from VST to AU can take a lot of time (especially if it's not your own code) and Marc did all of this as a favor. When I wrote Ambience I didn't write it with porting to AU in mind so the job was even tougher. Marc deserves a big thankyou for his work. Without Marc, no AU at all!
The basic consequence of all of this is that the AU version will have slightly weird acting knobs, but underneath it's the same effect and the same sound.
For my future effects I am trying to write them with more portability in mind, so that VST and AU and XXX can be on par with each other.
Best,
Magnus

Hi Magnus
A big thank to Marc from me to, I can live with this as I've worked out the true values, and of course I should rely on my ears to get the right length anyway, I just wanted to know if I was going mad
Besides, I'm still waiting for psp to port Vintagewarmer to AU
I think emagic were a bit over ambitious in their statement that it only takes 4 hours to port to AU.
Thanks again for a great reverb
best regards
Pete
