Yes! Quaver Mushroom Funk, I say. :D
I was in a foul mood today, yeah the wife, so your track has put a big smile on my face. Bloody awesome solo! Love the clav break at 2:08! I want a 12" version ( with a longer solo). 8)

And Steve..he's the man, no doubt.

Yes! :tu: That is it.

Extra cool bass sound (and riff). It's great that it isn't the typical P-Funk bass sound. You've got your own. Kinda spiky FM sound. 8)
This almost sounds like a soundtrack, especially at 1:55min. Brilliant.

Perhaps I ought to be asking KVR members for their own Funk tunes, rather than what they like. The two examples posted so far are more original, alive and quirky/interesting than the commercial stuff. 8)

Here's one I really like.

The music was composed by a guy named Virt- Jake Kaufman, a video game composer.
The instruments were from Zebra designed and set up by Zircon.
It's amazingly great imo.
Some other great funky things can be heard by digging up a few from DocT demos, floating around here.
As a kid, I grew up listening to a lot of 70's funk music.
For many years through my 20's & 30's, I always listened to this college radio station, that only played jazz-funk fusion, which I really liked.
Got to hear some great synth sounds that way.

Excellent! The synth clav is just yummy. The arrangement is a bit too overloaded in places, but since it is a demo, I can understand. Playing it on a loop for a while now, a great groove.

I have found this on You Tube:

A synth + drums, live, jamming. Pure Funk, no pop glitter. Love it. Now, all this needs is a chunky synth bass and a wha wha guitar. That's all. I'd love to find stuff like this. Exactly like this.

Keep those links linking me to good stuff. 8)

Now. This is an excellent rock infused funk:

Imagine all guitar riffs were played on synths, keeping the acoustic drums intact...more like this.
But this track is great as it is, one more listen... :hyper: :band:

Now. Hear this, all it needs is the sax and guitar solos to be replaced with a synth. A liquid synth line is what this needs:

Don't get me wrong, I love that track as it is, but...it needs a synth. :D

Look. It's not cool listening to those funk tracks on your own. Share them! Share some synth funk love ! :D  :D

If you want the synth leads over guitars and sax, try searching some of the names at the bottom of this page.

The newer takes like nu-funk, and nu-jazz are also great genres, that have a more contemporary feel.

Too much jazz there...

anyway, look what I found:

KVR's own dacaumodo has come up with the goods, kinda more 80s boogie though:

Great dance funk/boogie/pop track. Wanna make me turn up the volume, but the kids are asleep.

Excellent. A trully eclectic track. Lots of influences there. Some Hancock's Rock It in places, a tiny bit of Pump Up the Volume by MARS (don't ask me why), some ska brass, 80s boogie bass. I enjoyed it. Thanks for posting. :)
