OMFG that just totally blew my mind. Exactly the sound I'm looking forNEKRO.MACHINE wrote:Uncle E wrote:You've got to try the Jet City JCA20, which are $224 for the head and $269 for the combo. For rockabilly and Under The Bridge, a Blackheart BH15 would be better than the Frontman. 15W is fine for a band and it stays clean into its higher range. A Fender Hot Rod Deluxe or 4x10" Hot Rod Deville would be better still since they have reverb, channel switching, and enough power to handle any gig. You wouldn't even need a Tonelab in that case.bluelife wrote:I bought the cheapo Fender because we wanted just to play Rockabilly at the beginning = just clean; now we've decided to do other stuff too, like Creep and Under The Bridge, so I bought the Tonelab for the distortion.

the lead 50s are tempting at that price (550 usd)...these amps are very nice but when I saw who is selling them in the link while posting this I'm sure I know who this is. I had a friend Hank in the early 80s, his stage name was 'Hank Hazard' and his band was 'Hazradous Waste'...I haven't seen him since we went to see Iron Maiden on the World Slavery Tour together and I always wondered if he had anything to do with Bedrock (I moved away before Bedrock's emerged)
For those who do not know Bedrock amps were made in the 80s here in Lowell but changed their name to 'Fred's Amps' when threatened with a law suit, short lived company but very nice sounding. When I traded my plexi I was actually looking at these (in the 80s) and the old Laneys...if I didn't see a Mesa Boogie S.O.B. sitting in the back room I would have bought a Bedrock...but I asked about the Boogie and my friend who owned the store said he just got it. I plugged into it for about two minutes and asked him what kind of deal he would make me on a trade. He loved my plexi head (it was hot rodded) and said 'straight up'. 20 minutes later I was back with my marshall and walking out with the boogie.

Where'd you see that? If I can get them to price protect us, we may be able to drop the price an extra 15% off from there.Hink wrote:it also seems that the jet city piko valva has dropped down to 249 usd...very tempting

the new active electronics
a jet city 1x12
a jet city picovalve or 20 watt head
I'm ia definately interested in the picovalve but that hammond M# one town over at 199 might trump all.

How does the M3 compare to the B3 and C3? At $199, that seems hard to pass on.

less drawbars, no leslie (has it's own speaker), no presets and I'm sure more I cant remember...I'm not sure we could get it up here anyhow and 199 sorries me unless someone elses wife said either that organ goes or your organ does

funny, I sent an email to these people...besides the name hazrdousrecords I had no other name...when I sent it I ask him if his name was Henry **** (Hank's real name)...I got an email back that from someone named 'Hank' that simply read "who is this?"Hink wrote:http://www.hazardousrecords.com/garagesale/bedrock/

I guess I was right, it would be a hoot to hook up with this guy, he's about 10 years older than me and he was a bit of mentor for me back in the day.

Yeah Mesa Rectifiers suck. At least the daul rec I played way back sucked, haven't played one since.davidka wrote:OMFG that just totally blew my mind. However... I have my next amp. And future amp. Mesa Mark V.
Bypass the FX loop, use Extreme mode, channel 3. Crank it just a bit.
Holy mother of f**k. This amp.
Haven't touched a synth since I got it, and I'm practicing daily again. This thing is making me clean the f**k up out of my sloppy, lazy ass playing.

Marshall combo and fairly modern, though I do remember those switches going back as far as the 30th Anniversary models (which I've coveted since I was a teenager).
I finally played my Tele with the Kinman's through the Black Pearl 30 over the weekend. It's easy to see why Brent Mason uses one, that's the best guitar for that amp so far.
