I agree, this sucks. Every little nonsense gets adapted to the latest MS brainf*rts, the essential ones don't.
To be fair, IK is not alone here.
We need more software with competent programming, bypassing that crap altogether.
Opera for example, a very deep program, has all settings inside its program folder.
Win-win situation

Well this is jolly good then !!!!!

Since all of you chaps who have advocated turning off a safety feature that was included in the O.E.M. install , I'd like to thank you fellas for faxing me the letters where you personally guarantee that you will travel however far to show up at my flat to re-image my drive and re-authorize all my stupid plugs that will go ape when they see the changes made to the drive !!!

The simple truth is that 98% of all my other plugs don't have a hiccup and run peachy with UAC on!!!! So I have to ignore that fact , and go to some extordinary lengths to be able to use IKMM stuff that I purchased ( and all the warez boys can laugh and leave UAC on !!!!!!

I don't know what makes this plugg SOOOOO much more advanced ( but after I turn off UAC for the 9999th time to use it , I should be floored by the gap between this and the competition !!! I'd better be

!!!) IKMM better be so far ahead of the competition that they can afford to put paying customers through the wringer ... But it must be something because they seem to be doing fine !!! There DSP needs to be protected to the point of driving us paying customers to distraction !! I will ignore the contrast of the fact that I can spend 5 minuets installing other pluggs and I'm off to the races .............

Hey chj, we've done some further testing regarding your report, and we've discovered it is very specific to your particular setup running AmpliTube and your DAW from a separate Standard User logon.

In this scenario, disabling UAC still does not resolve it, so disregard that. Tech Support will continue to follow up with you, and of course we are communicating our results with development. Thanks for working with us on this!

I'm definitely happy it's being looked into. One thing though, I'm not so sure my 'particular setup' should be considered 'very specific'. I try to keep my installations/uses as standard as possible so I don't run into individualized problems. Using applications on a standard user logon is Microsoft's recommended way to use Win7. Many others are probably having the same problem, even if they aren't blabbing on forums about it, like I am.

What I mean by that is it's specific to running Authorization Manager in a separate user login with no Administrator privileges. Typically users have a single account that is the Administrator, though UAC requires privileges to be elevated on demand. We have a good handle on what the environmental conditions are that cause your issue, and are able to reproduce it now.

I have no experience with Win 7, but I do know that for some reason OS X also requires Admin Mode for certain things.

I can imagine for Registering/Authorizing it will need Admin powers, but why aren't the "personal settings" like Buffersize written down in the User directory? After all, you don't need Admin power to write in your own section.
