I would really appreciate some comments on the tools,
if you have found the time to try them...

I do have a question...the screenshot of Synth 1 on your page....where did that come from?

Hi-Tek
It came from this:
panel: #0A0A0A
text: #707070
font: Astron Boy
Now, you are probably wondering about the font. Many in this forum complained that the font cannot be changed, but it can.

How to change the font in Synth1's GUI?
/or what can be edited in dll/
So, you must edit dll.
For this, use any hex editor, for example http://mh-nexus.de/en/downloads.php?product=HxD.
Now, you can change the default font from
4C 75 63 69 64 61 20 43 6F 6E 73 6F 6C 65 00 00
Lucida Console..
to e.g.
43 61 6C 69 62 72 69 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Calibri.........
or
41 73 74 72 6F 6E 20 42 6F 79 00 00 00 00 00 00
Astron Boy......
Note that you must not change the dll size!
The font part must stay 14 + 2 (00 00) bytes (characters) long!
I'll include this in manual v3 later, along with the "initial sound" name change
69 6E 69 74 69 61 6C 20 73 6F 75 6E 64
to
20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20
or to anything you want.
And also one more stuff - how to change pannel text, for example, deph to depth
And that is ALL THAT CAN BE CHANGED via dll editing. Three things only.
Hope this helps!

The EULA gives you permission to hack the .dll? I don't know I'm asking........

Its up to you if you wish to edit dll, as long as you don't redistribute it.
And really, this is not exactly a hack...
Please do not start another discussion
- it will be very valuable for me if you tell me something about the tools... Did you tried them? Converted some NL patches or made some tweaks, hybrids, libraries...?

The changes are not just cosmetic... many new options are added, and some codes are tweaked further; the whole thing is faster and IMO more fun to use
Btw, don't be afraid for the conversion results - they are the same.
Here is the short preview (the resolution is not good, watch it in full screen to get the point

This afternoon I accidentally discovered that in Nord Lead Converter I used the old test algo for the FM parameter, instead of the final (the right) one.
SO much testing, but still - mistakes can creep...
Instead of releasing a new version of Synth1 Tools, I simply made a little tool to serve as a quick fix.
Put it in (decompressed!) folder containing 128 or less converted num.sy1 files and run it. It takes about 5 sec to process a full bank of 128 presets.
I'm really sorry if this oversight will cause you any inconvenience...
Have a nice evening.

Unfortunatelly, Synth1 Tools software is for Windows only, and I'm really not sure if it can be re-programmed to work on Mac.
These programs are made in command prompt (DOS) as it was the fastest and the best solution for this kind of tasks. So, the software for Mac must be written from zero, in some other language

Because of the frequent requests
, the "Synth1 Librarian" tool can now be downloaded from the site
.
Right now, I don't have the time to make a "how to use" video...
If someone is REALLY eager to make a video clip, that will be great
!
Thanks!

How can I change the size of presets lists font using hex editor? The font is to big and cannot see all the presets titles.
