Thanks for your comment. Remember that those 2 patches are thought to be panned eft and right in your DAW to get the correct sound.

About the file name:
The underscore is added automatically by Rapidshare. I could do zip files but those could not be played directly here at KVR. Anyway i added MP3 tags so if you download and play it then you should get the correct names without underscores in your MP3 player.

Like with my Prophet V2 patches this incliúdes two Tracks with slightly different patches which are slightly panned (in Ableton Live 8 -15L and 15R) to make the sound wider.

Here are the two Charlatan patches i made for the demo:

:-o

love that patch, thanks for the download!
Many thanks for your comment. Like mentioned above remember to layer both patches in your DAW and use the panning feature in your mixer to get the right sound. In Ableton Live 8 panning is -15L and 15R.

I did a little demo song using only sounds from Charlatan.
I used FL Studio 10. The setup is:

Solo voice: Fruity Delay 2 + EQ
Bass: Some side-chain gate + EQ
Kick: Voxengo Tube Amp + EQ
Snare & Hat: Fruity Compressor + Fruity Compressor + Fruity Reeverb 2 + EQ
Master: SonEQ + Soundgoodizer

It isn't a great job (ok, it's really very bad), but... well... shows some possibilities of the plugin.
I'll try to make something better in the future. :?

If you have FL Studio right click into options and save the Preset :]
You can also load it this way! Fyi.

Very nice synth mate! Make a third Oscillator and you'll replace my 3x OSC from Fruity :-p

Not a bad job at all! I love both the sounds and the composition! Happy to see people start making music with Charlatan rather than bothering with color schemes...

beta 0.3 very cool! works very well in Orion.
(you have to delete previous version, or it reloads
it by default).

could just do with a few starter patches in those
slots. although it's so easy to use, it doesn't
matter.

oh: one thing: the parameters don't show up in
the key edit parameter display here, only basics
like PBend etc.

0.9.3 Crashes Orion 8.505 here (32 bit).

Happy that people are contributing patches despite the irritating color?

I'm talking about eye irritation not personal esthetics...............Spend a long period of time staring at something bright Red and see if you don't find your eyes burning.........I guess you'll stick with the red because that's the only choice.

Im playing around with a track im making with just your synth and other effects. Reaper is not nice to me though as it kills every vst/i except Maschine so i have to restart it all the time.. But still, just wanted to let you know it's working great! (i doubt it's at fault for the mess up in reaper). The kickdrum had it's attack changed from each hit .. i remember some goa track back in the days had that too so i can assume it's due to the analogish things in your synth. That said, i just sampled a few into maschine and in the end i ended up with a pretty awesome kick. One sample tuned down with lowpass, one highpitched with highpass and one in the middle with .. you guess it. While it was pretty much edited, it is possible to get some very cool kicks out of your synth!
I also made some hihats and something similar to the clap-percussion thing on TR-727.

The limitations on your synth is very inspiring as it forces me to find combinations of the knobs and buttons to get cool sounds.
Your filter has personality and doesnt sound like other synths.

It makes a great complement to ACE which is more complex and has a different sounding filter and oscillators.

Im looking forward to see what else you can come up with though i appreciate that you want to maybe take a little break and catch your breath while enjoying your creation. Hurry up though ;)

True. Consistent attack would would require a phase reset of the oscillators at note on. I do not consider this feature important enough for adding yet another switch to the GUI, especially since there are ways around it, as you describe below.

Great, this is exactly the attitude I want to see from Charlatan users: get creative to achieve things and work around limitations!

Well, I don't think you should expect any major new features for 1.0, it's mostly polishing now, both sound- and GUI-wise.

Have fun!
