Patch i made that sounds very much like my Akai AX-80's bass. this is
quit impressive as i've not found any vst that can mimick it this
well. sorry for the crackles...its the capture program.

Sorry, I understand what a classic S&H module does; I was thinking more of how on a synth as relatively simple as this would someone differentiate between s&h and random, would you need both random and s&h (where s&h seems to be accepted shorthand for a random waveform nowadays)?AdmiralQuality wrote:When you S&H noise, you get the "random" modulator, because at any given time the waveform will be at an unpredictable level.

I ment your next synth!karrikuh wrote: Well, I don't think you should expect any major new features for 1.0, it's mostly polishing now, both sound- and GUI-wise.
Have fun!
About GUI, you can't see the value of the knobs .. but maybe that's good and intended?
Im not sure, but maybe sync is behaving a little funny. If you set the lfo to modulate osc2 pitch, it goes silent when the lfo goes below zero. And when it's positive it doesnt go very high up in sync.
I was just trying to make a 16th note rythm going up and down in sync if you know what i mean and in the end i set sync mod to envelope with max decay/sustain and then modulated .. i think it was the mod value within reaper. I got the sound i wanted in the end

Yes that's fully intended. Just use your ears or, if absolutely needed, switch to your hosts default GUI to see the parameter values.Crackbaby wrote: About GUI, you can't see the value of the knobs .. but maybe that's good and intended?
If osc2 (slave) is set to square wave and pitch is more than one octave down relative to osc1 (master), then osc2 with sync on will produce a dc signal which, after dc blocking will become silence. So, yes, that's entirely possible. I recommend to get some oscilloscope plugin and play around with sync to really see and understand what's going on. I'm fairly certain that the sync implementation behaves just as it should.Crackbaby wrote: Im not sure, but maybe sync is behaving a little funny. Pitch mod can be up to 4 oct which should be enough even for extreme sync sounds.

Yeah that's what I meant too. "Random" is what Roland and many others called it when the S&H was hard-wired to the noise. Even my first synth, a Moog/Realistic MG-1 had it and called it "RANDOM".GaryG wrote:Sorry, I understand what a classic S&H module does; I was thinking more of how on a synth as relatively simple as this would someone differentiate between s&h and random, would you need both random and s&h (where s&h seems to be accepted shorthand for a random waveform nowadays)?AdmiralQuality wrote:When you S&H noise, you get the "random" modulator, because at any given time the waveform will be at an unpredictable level.

I used an icon on Poly-Ana, but it reports "random" in the parameter display.

but then it wouldn't be very Tron-y...

Mulab FREE reports Charlatan 0.94 as an invalid plugin here (32-bit version). Previous version worked well!
