im taking music theory and my teacher said that there are an unlimited amount of drum patterns out thr depending on where you put your rests. I wound up buying a drum machine pattern book but the patterns are all truly outdated. i just really need something moor like this.

there would seem to be a lot of potential for humor and comment given the graphical appeal of these drum patterns examples
but sometimes its better to leave that to others

in this case what can be wrong with making your own patterns? it can't be that difficult to steal from what you like. and then there's microtonic and that online generator thingie that I'm sure someone will mention or google could find, but then I'm almost certain it's not exactly what you're looking for

I have a hard time believing the patterns are 'outdated.' They may have been used on older tunes in different styles, but try applying them to modern kits and see what happens.

Or, throw them in and tweak them to taste by hand.

Yea i thought that too until i put them in im shore i can squeeze a good beat out of them if i really needed too... its not that im a super huge fan of these new school patterns but id rather learn the rules before i get to braking them. Everybody seems to be into these new patterns these days i figure they must be pretty common knowledge amongst pop and hip hop producers i just don't knw where i could find out how exactly to make them. That drum role on "got money" is probably the hardest one i tried for hours to get that down and it still doesn't sound rite lol.

These patterns are not new and they are not hard if you have a good grasp on rhythms. Learning to count and subdivide rhythms and getting used to what certain basic rhythms sound like will make it easy to mimic something like this.

The trick here seems to be that the drum fills have a feel like a fast song while the grooves have a slow feel. This is made possible by the tempo of these grooves, but I don't really know a great way to explain it.

For those who don't know, breakbeat samples are the lifeblood of Hip Hop and Rap music. They have been the basis of virtually all of the classic hit that you hear today. Nowadays many producers have preferred to use more prechopped and engineered or factory drum kits, but there will always be a group of folks who choose to sample and chop records by hand.

I need drum patterns!!!!
