hmmm... perhaps someone can help?
I digged out my original product CD , really forgot about it, it states to be OSX compatibel, but after installing it, I can't see it in Logic or Vienna.
Started logic in 32 bit mode, but nuttin was registered.
The files were in Macintosh HD, Audio/plugins/VST, there was a plex file and a plex data folder, but could not get it to show in Logic.
Any ideas?

Did you realize that the original Plex was released some years before Apple started hugging Intel?
And did you realize that PowerPC support was dropped in Snow Leopard?
And did you realize that even Rosetta was dropped in Lion?
That's compatibility and long-term commitment for you Apple fans
... of course, this doesn't necessarily mean that your current problem goes along this line, but you didn't state much about your system.

Nope, I did not remember how long it really was ago that I bought it. Just looked at the manual and saw OS or OSX, so gave ti a shot...
Hehehe... Thanks!
Here comes a gift for my buddy who just started with computer music on a PC with XP. He'll be pleased!
Best wishes

Good to see so many people rediscovering this old gem. It seems that for a long time a lot of people didn't really know what to make of it... or what to make with it.
Available on iTunes, Amazon, etc.

Thanks for the hosting and most of all thanks for this great synth can't wait to try it out!
As for the 64 bit question, did you try jbridge? I will try it out later otherwise I may have to break down and install 32 bit cubase

Wolfgang
nice to hear from you here at KVR.
Many thanks for the free version of Plex. Works like a charm on my PC.
At the time when it was released i was into hardware synths only. My first VST synth was Linplug Albino 3 at the end of 2004. My first software synth was Aegis Sonix for the Commodore Amiga at the beginning of the 90's.

Oh.... Hallo Wolfgang!
Habe viele schoene Stunden mit Plex verbracht, bedauere sehr, dass es nicht weiterentwickelt wurde. War ein recht spezielles Teil, und hat sehr ungewoehnliche und schoene Klangwelten ermoeglicht.
Very generous of you to share it with the world!
The world is richer now!

Your reply is spot on... Plex for Mac OS X was PPC only, not even Universal Binary. So the OP *could* install an old PPC specific Host and run under Rosetta but the performance will be unsatisfactory. Logic or any other current Intel only host will not recognize a PPC AU/VST. Better off with an old, 2nd hand PPC and OS X 10.4 if you want to run legacy software. I was a fan of Plex and would like to see a Mac port (unlikely, of course), but it's nice to see it get some attention againarakula wrote:Did you realize that the original Plex was released some years before Apple started hugging Intel?

I was just joking! Calm down!arakula wrote:Get lostBFunKu wrote:Downloading from the above mirror and it is telling me 6 hours and 11 minutes at a whopping 5.3kb a second? That's pathetic! Just because the synth is from like 2001 doesn't mean the download speed has to be!![]()
Either try the alternative or come back tomorrow, when the current storm has ebbed off
JFTR - my little servers have sent out ~40GB in the last few hours. All of that is Plex. And if you got the "luck" to compete with someone who does it with a download manager that opens 5-10 concurrent connections, wellllll.... too bad.

"This is a dirty job but someone has to do it".
I know this is extremely ungrateful to developer, but it has to be asked:
Is there any chance for a 64bit version in the future?
Many thanks, btw.
