i have to finish the details but for now it seems good...
i mounted just two strings and played with a violin bow: it makes a lot of noise... and i think i will not ever need the pickup!
i need to raise a bit the strings holder after the cello brige because the strings make a very steep angle after the bridge itself, so that the bridge tends to slip away.
moreover, i need to move the bridge in a suitable position to get the guitar perfectly tuned

audio and video will follow, stay tuned!

aaargh...
what is it? looks like an old eko florentine bass...or am i wrong???

Post

it should be an eko but actually i don't know the model.
i recovered it for free also because it was broken in some mechanical parts.

Post

it's a rather valuable bass...quite a pity ruining it...

Post

it was a guitar, not a bass
it was already ruined... the string holder was broken and so were the bridge and the nut...
but acutally i did not ruined it a lot more. i just made some extra hole in the neck to screw it to the wood piece i placed under it! :)

Post

i konw some people who would pay 2-300$ for it...

Post

it's an Eko Florentine, model 360, from the sixties...

replied to your email ;-)
thanks!

here a quick vide,o just to test-drive it! :)

i did not made any severe damage to the guitar... a lot of noise is coming out, actually... and i hope to be able to get something "serious" out of it! :)

I wish i could think about some further customization "a-la-diego stocco"! ;)

Post

a quick recording with my condenser mic and the tb202 amp. some eq and reverb added...

awesome project and quite inspirational, thank you for sharing it here...as for messing up a vintage guitar, well I've been guilty of that myself...had I known that one day a 72 tele custom would be worth what it is today I never would have cut that hole in it for the kahler whammy nor would I have cut the hole in it so I could move the volume knob up like it is on a strat.

But then it didn't matter much after I flew off that step to the drum riser and the body of the guitar broke my fall...

Cool I enjoyed both tracks: the experimental one and Rusty River Roads as well.
Cheers
