Honestly, the DeLorean was never my dream car. But I still have my first polyphonic synth - my old DX7! Thanks for the nice comments and "primarily" for the points!

You only need the DeLorean to get there and back. Once you're in the 80's, might I suggest a Pontiac Fiero? Doc can haul your keys around in a van or something...

Oddly enough, guy up the street from me owns one (a DeLorean that is - there are, hopefully, no Fieros left)

pros: Nostalgic trance feel with a very good execution, mix (+points for not

over-compressing! save the dynamic range ppl! )

cons: arrangement is a bit repetitive and standard.
The overall song "lost" a few points for originality also. Creative name leaves room for more diversity and exploration.

Solidtrax - Lady from Jupiter - 3 points
The intro: Hm, a well produced standard track. So I thought at first. But then the track evolved with lotsa depth and nice parts. Lotsa details, great drums, great sounds and deep emotions. That's up my alley. It somehow grabbed me and didn't want to let me go but in a nice and relaxed way. Good themes. "Mainstreamy" and deep at the same time. Very nice.

Honestly, I hate this part - don't like leaving out tracks I like, and hate being a windbag reviewer. But here goes:

Great atmosphere. Subjectively, being a fan of more subtle house styles(tech, deep), this was a favorite. The lack of variety in the track kept it from garnering more points, but that being suitable for the genre, I couldn't hold it against you too much.
The click during the break - around 2:38 - love that. I never have the confidence in those sounds that fly under the radar and add subtle atmosphere- my tendency being to mix them up too high, then toss them..

We also hate this votingjob But thanks for this very nice comment and points! You're the first who gets the feeling with our 2:38 tick!

Super tough this month. I think it speaks volumes for the synth in use.

My choices:
Stonail - MimosaTree - 5
I didn't think the presets were awesome and the production wasn't over the top or anything really. It just stuck with me all day after hearing it. Overall it was just nice to sit back and enjoy a tune like this. It felt like a great use of space. Maybe too much space some time but I thought it was a great effort.

Pocvecem - TheEternalFlow - 4
Lots of replay-ability with this one. Thanks, I like this song very much.

Mawa - DanceOfTheGoblin - 3
I hear a very good tune and what appears to be some effort put into this as well. the first 32 seconds made me listen to the rest of the tune.

Chacka - AfterTheWar - 2
I really wanted to rate this one higher for just the all out wow factor. Very well done.

Bumtu - Rumpus - 1
This one just puts a smile on my face listening to it. Had to put it in the list.

Bzur - Divagation - I loved the tune overall but it seemed like there was one element to many at some times - I dunno. Funny thing is that I keep playing it over and over and can't decide what I would do differently. Strange huh?

Gorgorgathgorgorgor - Krampusnacht - Love what you did but for some reason all of the parts had a certain roundness (almost flat) sound to them that kept any of them from standing out. Overall I liked it though.

DaveDove-AuldLangSyne - I only had a problem with how this was mixed. I really, really liked this tune though.

Bumtu - Rumpus: 3 points
Again a very raw song, I do not like music that's too smooth. A very good intro, great sounds and an awesome bass with lot of bends. The drums are very good too and that beautiful brass adds a 'something' of orchestral that make this song very original.

Bumtu - Rumpus: Interesting tune overall. It feels like: I don't tell you what is behind the veil. Very interesting. This reminds me of a movie where lotsa artists from the middle ages are doing there things. But you are walking along an isle and can only see what's going on from the other side of a row of columns.

That was cool! Thanks for mentioning! I imagined the surprising picture you described. Maybe I should try to explore more such musical areas... I appreciate that!

I have no clue what it is about this track, but it just works. Weird off kilter kind of sounds and a feeling to match it. I just want to get up a move a bit as this track plays. Legitimately an interesting piece of music that simply works for what it is.

is that a Jupter6 below the DX7? What a classic 80s setup. These synths were way out of range for me these days. And i always dreamt of another fat lady (or DIVA?): Emulator II.
Btw, Mark Hollis was the singer of TalkTalk. Still remember when i listened to the 12" of Such a Shame the first time as if it was yesterday. The phasing strings, the 808 rimshot, the elephant call ... still one of my alltime favourite songs.

I believe that was a CZ-1000 under the DX-7. I added an Oberheim Matrix 6 soon after.

Here's that band, about 3 months before I joined. Tthat's the Casio out in front played by the lead guitarist at the time. The DX-7 added an entire new dimension. And what an great keybed on that thing.


The guy playing the "bowtar" (yeah, it's sick) sadly passed away. The instrument and he were one of a kind...he does a remarkable solo in the third video.

(sorry - kinda hi-jacking our voting thread with 80's nostalgia...)
