Yep, and they should add that feature, but there's still tons you can do with it for now. And when they add it, there will probably be a whole slew of new patches released that will be pre-tempo-synced and you'll be able to use it as a loop mangler much more easily. So it will just get better.

It wasn't so hard this time as the feature list is not so longhibidy wrote:
Besides, Simon has already explored all the possibilities and dunced everyone else
But I could/will spend many days to come importing "rich" wavs with lot's of distinct pitches and/or rhythms and isolating, combining, masking spectrals bands (or just tiny spectral spots) and transforming them into something new - all missing features are achievable by using a combination of other Plugs and apps so I'm not really "missing" anything with Iris.

Just drag the right loop handle of sample 2 at the top of the UI to 10 seconds, enable the time axis view in the tool menue first and set it to seconds.Caine123 wrote:i got a question demoing it now, i loaded up 2 samples 1 10 secs the other 45 secs, i want both played with 10 secs so that it is synced together, i have both pitched with Radius RT.
If you want sample 2 to end at 10 seconds set "sample end" at the bottom of the UI to 10 seconds. If you want to run 100 metres in 10 seconds hurry up!

a small test atmosphere. but you hear it ends abrupt cause of the different length of each sample

but what if the sections are in the middle of the samples? this time i have the same sample with different selectionsSampleconstruct wrote:Just drag the right loop handle of sample 2 at the top of the UI to 10 seconds, enable the time axis view in the tool menue first and set it to seconds.Caine123 wrote:i got a question demoing it now, i loaded up 2 samples 1 10 secs the other 45 secs, i want both played with 10 secs so that it is synced together, i have both pitched with Radius RT.

Adjust sample offset and end point of each sample, I don't see a problem here...Caine123 wrote:but what if the sections are in the middle of the samples? this time i have the same sample with different selectionsSampleconstruct wrote:Just drag the right loop handle of sample 2 at the top of the UI to 10 seconds, enable the time axis view in the tool menue first and set it to seconds.Caine123 wrote:i got a question demoing it now, i loaded up 2 samples 1 10 secs the other 45 secs, i want both played with 10 secs so that it is synced together, i have both pitched with Radius RT.

I thought so. The ease of use of Iris is great. But I don't use spectral sounds all that much. By the way, I use Melodyne also for spectral-kind-of-editing.lightsfadelow wrote:Yes, you totally can use RX2 with Kontakt, and the combination gives you more power.
How can I select harmonics of the root in Iris? Can you cut and paste harmonic content in Iris? Is it possible to modulate the spectral selections?
This video by Sampleconstruct is very good:
It shows the many possibilities of Iris.

Well after testing some more, it doesn't appear to matter what my buffer setting is in Ableton. Nasty clicks at the start using radius rt no matter what. It's not usable like this.
How are you guys using this? Is it only a Mac bug? Only Ableton?

I've had terrible issue with the standalone. But on PC/x64/reaper it seems to work well enough. Seriously though, it's BY FAR the highest cpu using plug in I've used on this system (had it over two years)

I use it in Ableton, and, depending on other settings like release, I can play about 4 to 5 notes without clicking noises (with RT enabled). The performance is better in Reaper and when used as a standalone - Ableton is a resource hog.Echoes in the Attic wrote:Well after testing some more, it doesn't appear to matter what my buffer setting is in Ableton. These noises are buffer related and don't appear in the final render. I've dropped the idea of using Iris as an 8-octave fully mapped 16-voice synth. It's better to restrict yourself to two, maybe three octaves and find the sweet spot, maybe even avoiding Radius RT mode whenever you can. What helps immensely with this is too change the root note of a sample manually, and to use the crossfades and loop modes intelligently to mask any glitches.
I've also found that you don't need to fill all three sample spots to get good sounds; try to exploit a single, harmonically rich sample to its fullest extent.
I wish the performance were better, but I understand that real time pitch shifting in this quality needs a lot of resources. Have you tried disabling the high q mode?
A real nifty feature request would be something like automatically sampling and mapping a finished patch. I've tried doing this in High Life, but it's been crashing Ableton.

Here is another Iris video processing a processed Piano Cloud (an arpeggio I played on a piano and then processed with various Plugs):

an excellent video tutorial. This really shows how easy and flexible the selection process with Iris could be. Especially the use of the "Magic Wand" tool looked interesting.
Somehow Iris seems to get more interesting for me now...

Thank's Ingo, the magic wand tool is great for only selecting tiny spots of spectral content, enhancing transients in more percussive material or to add harmonically useful overtones to an already selected spectral bands. It also follows the lenghts of your mouseclicks, very short clicks will result in tiny spots, long clicks select bigger portions.Ingonator wrote:Hi Simon,Sampleconstruct wrote:Here is another Iris video processing a processed Piano Cloud (an arpeggio I played on a piano and then processed with various Plugs):
