I find myself not liking what kvr has become. Writing here these days is like talking to a schizophrenic people; you have to beware of everything you say or do so you don't freak them up.
I really wish this forum had zero tolerance for insults and rude behaviour towards others.

Flat-out amazing, sheikh, that you of all people would quote this in your own defence. Just a week or two ago one of your posts was removed by a mod. It was your response to someone who said they were looking for a radically new-sounding plugin. Out of nowhere, your offering was to tell him that he "should get f*cked up the *ss, know what I mean"?
That was the entirety of your post.
Stay or go, not my place to say. But stuff like that is nothing but toxic. The forum most certainly does NOT need more behaviour like that.
So feel free to drop the victim's pose any time now.

To be safe in these uncertain and cruel times, I feel the need to add a disclaimer to my posts... incase my silliness might be misconstrued.
"If my posts contain anything other than thoughtful discourse on the topic at hand, they are to be considered nothing more than jokes based upon the current atmosphere and trends the conversation is exhibiting. Any and all other interpretations are to be regarded as incorrect. Thank you."
Man, I've always been bugged with how the 32bit bridged UIs in Reaper float in a separate window (I use the fullscreen mode)... and then I finally discovered the other day that there's a right-click option to embed them. It's always the little things that count <3

Well put and agree with A.M. Gold, Also OTOT it won't suddenly make each source signal processed magically become multi-dimensional. The source material is presumed to be in as good shape as possibleTp3 wrote:This question is like "How does it FEEL to have sex ??"sheikh al Dudeilan wrote:imate to ask 'what is this 3d audio Herbert's been raving about and how is he doing it' until - hopefully - this question gets answered. This is a central and very important question, both with regards to Density and in general. Please don't tell me people don't want to know!!!
When you engage certain presets and/or settings, you feel like the sound "grows" on you, "encompass you" - so to speak. you can explain it in technical tern but that would miss the point (just as you SURELY don't want to
know what happens in the pleasure center in the brain while having sex).
There are things you just cannot express in words... you just KNOW IT, by EXPERIMENTING.
Herbert's laid it out with a point of reference for likening the process so that there is a point of reference all should/one would expect everyone on an audio forum to know ell and is dead simple regarding the 'depth' & '3D qualities'. Thinking of it like the cues You get from how our ear's operate inside a room to locates those via early reflexions, Simply switch those for the transients processed when using Density MK III and/or Tessla PRO and the the latter reflextions/tail swap that out for the body of the material processed
It is not that difficult to 'get' and everyone has the means to try out what Herbert described for themselves, All but one or two don't 'get' it, Don't want to 'get' it and some essay upon a FREE processor by the developer who spent alot of his FREE time creating it and shares it and many others for FREE along with alot more intresting information via his blog which is FREE to read, Even had the courtesy to stop by and give a reply plus a link to a post on the afforementioned blog where said FREE tool could be used
Fail to see what has not been answered/adressed

Well yes, you remember correctly. What you seem to have missed is that the OP on the thread in question was probably a clueless kiddie, who kept saying he needed something 'different' after several pages with suggestions of what he could try, so I figured THAT's what he/she actually needed and kindly suggested so.lingyai wrote:That was the entirety of your post.

Why my post was removed is beyond me, I think it was very to-the-point and not toxic at all but actually constructive.
What I find toxic is many guys' behaviour here, they're trying to intimidate me, to silence me, to make me go away, simply because I have a question to the developer that I'd like to have answered in meaningful words and sentences.
OK, I get it, he's not obliged to answer this particular question, and I will eventually stop asking it, but why don't you ask him something worthwhile instead? You have spent lots of space in attacking me and this is entirely beside the point, as Herbert said he would be here to answer questions if the thread is not derailed. Which is exactly what you've been doing, you righteous fanbois...
Did I say this politely enough?

blunt and to the point, I sometimes get the same responses. You have to recognise who the funny ones are and take note of them. Sometimes you only have to disagree with someone on one point and then all their friends jump on the bandwagon and try to muscle you. Ive found that a good 75% people are spot on and you can have a proper adult discussion. But sometimes the other 25% start highlighting spelling mistakes and only choose part of what you have said and respond with very low life remarks like"you do know what that means dont you" when they use a word your not quite familiar with. Well, take that earlier post of mine for example where I was told "how much I didnt know about compressors" even though I only wrote a few words. Yeah, there is a lot of smart arses who like trying to make people out to be stupid even though sometimes you just want to hear in plain english what all those big technological terms mean. I had a friend once who was a waste management and removal technician. In plain words he was a "Binman".

Good grief, Charlie Brown. Stop whining. It's the internet. You can never win. Get over it.
I swear, it's like some people have been using this vst on their own insecurities and cranking the color knob.
His post on serving up some dense dishes was pretty cool. By keeping the coloring separate from even the circuit gain distortion, there's some nice subtleties to be found by tinkering around. I feel the urge to create something atmospheric with weird delays/reverbs and various transient types to test out it's capabilities in m/s mode...

Yes, I'd strongly urge you to do so (re. the delays/reverbs part).Kontrast13 wrote:His post on serving up some dense dishes was pretty cool. I've tested it as a mastering compressor on some very nice and really deep mixes, such as Coil - Musick to Play in the Dark, Nurse with Wound - Angry Eelectric Finger, Koxbox - The Great Unknown, Blue Planet Corporation - Blue Planet, where delays/reverbs play a huge part, and Density has been really amazing, it's on records like these that you can hear what 3D means. My mistake seems to be that I also want to read about it...
To sum up, obnoxious or toxic as I might be, but thus far I'm the only one who has asked Herbert any questions:
- is there any stereo enhancement - the answer was NO, and he clearly explained why. Thanks for that, Herbert, if you're reading this.
- what is 3D and how it works - the answer was
. Which means that it can be told in words.thats another and more complicated story
- what happens to the signal below compression level, obviously it is affected but by what and by what not? - nothing here.
- what are some 'behind the curtain' interactions between parameters? I guess some are hard-wired and some are signal dependent - nothing here yet, apart from this
which confirms that there actually ARE some behind the curtain interactions going on, at least that's how I'm reading it.There is no compression anymore now but one can still use the MAKEUP knob to drive the gain of the non-linear circuits.
And I'd like to ask a question about the attack and release times, but unfortunately I have no idea how to phrase it, as I don't know anything about how they work in Density, so any input about this would be appreciated.
In contrast, the guys who are trying to shut me off have asked NOTHING, only added some speculations of their own about how this or that may actually work.
I suppose several master theses could be written about this plug-in, in several scientific fields. What we've got here is ad hominem attacks (on me, of all people!!!) and 'fairy dust'.

I don't think you should stop asking questions at all. Nothing at all wrong with wanting to know more. I am curious too but put it mostly down to increased harmonic saturation and non-linear fairiessheikh al Dudeilan wrote:What about the power 'button'? It's not functioning. I've never muted anyone here, but I guess there's a first time for everything.
