So in other words;; No.Urs wrote:If someone isn't into the presets then honestly, wait for Zebra3. Z3 will have much better integration of the features. I'm thinking it's all or nothing.
That's a pity, $99 is way too much just for the upgraded synth features.
i mean i know you're pitching it as a soundset, but you must surely know there's many who will only buy the soundset to get access to upgraded features.
And you said only about 10% of the patches use the HZ upgrades. So i mean, if that $99 price is mostly reflected by the presets why not make the ZebraHZ upgrade available separately for it's own price ?

Sounds great! As a DIVA owner will there be a way to cross grade to a Zebra 2/ZebraHZ bundle or should I wait for Zebra 3 in a few months time?Urs wrote:Guess what's coming**
As you would expect, we'll draw a winner of the thing from anyone posting here.

** Couldn't keep it a secret anymore:
As you know, next week premieres the final part of The Dark Knight trilogy. For the soundtrack HZ used a custom built Zebra with Diva filters and some prototype features originally planned for Zebra3. He got us to do this in return for some rights. Now the gist is, part of what we're releasing requires that pimped version of Zebra, hence it will be bundled. It isn't perfect, e.g. the "Diva" filters are mono, there's no multicore support, significant CPU drain if the extras are used. We call it ZebraHZ, and it will run nicely as a *separate* plugin!
So, hehe, I can't hold back anymore, and it has been guessed rightly a few times - all Zebra patches by HZ/HS designed for Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, accompanied by ZebraHZ. Sells for 99$, requires an existing Zebra license.
This I think is the best way to celebrate 11 (i.e. one more!) years of u-he, and a great way to bridge the gap until we release Zebra3. I'm also very happy that we can finally and officially make these sounds heard

Exciting stuff!
I can't wait to hear the presets
Someone mentioned video tutorials about these presets. I think that's a really great idea!
Cheers

I saw there's been a slight discount mentioned for going with Zebra2 and upgrading to Zebra3 over just waiting for Zebra3, up until Zebra3 is released. Also ZebraHZ will require Zebra2. I haven't seen anything else.munchkin wrote: Sounds great! As a DIVA owner will there be a way to cross grade to a Zebra 2/ZebraHZ bundle or should I wait for Zebra 3 in a few months time?
I'll probably be yelling 'to the BatSynth!' often enough ...

Yep.
So far we know :
If you have Zebra2, your can buy ZebraHZ for 99USD (don't know if you can buy it if you don't have zebra).
Update to Zebra 3 will be 30 USD.

Pricing seems backwards to me. 30 bucks for preset pack, 99 for upgrade to Zebra 3 seems more like it.paulbreeze wrote:Yep.

I don't quite understand why so cheap for major upgrade, yet quite expensive for preset pack with a few new features that will be in the full upgrade anyways.

The presets cost might be effected by Hans Zimmer and the copyright of the films being involved. It will be a lot of high quality presets from the masters of presets.

so to me 99 for that isn't expensive at all... plus new features...
as to the 30USD upgrade...
yes maybe that is indeed cheap, but if Urs want's the charge that, I wont' be complaining

Dammit, this thread has pushed me to demo Zebra again... owned and sold on many moons ago... seems to be a lot more stuff in there now. Those Combs slay me!
But, then there's Diva... you should do a bundle Urs.
