I thought there is a phase switch for each mic already? Unless you people mean rotateable phase. Now this would be a different thing.

Though I would love(!) to have an individual output for each mic, or at least individual EQ for each mic. But then again, that's just me being an engineer. Never liked the "room mics", and the individual mics are not catching any room either.

Grid mode would be an interesting concept.

One thing is for certain, regardless of my complaining, I'd never want to give up my amp sims :)

360 degrees of variable phase rotation only makes sense to me at a given frequency. 180 degrees phase rotation is something we can do with simple inversion (polarity reversal) of a full bandwidth signal. Any other phase difference between audio signals usually reflects time delays between signals. For example, with two mics, one on the grill and the other 12 inches back from a cab, you will have two signals one delayed 0.9 millisecs relative to the other and will get noticeable comb filtering effects (flanging) when they summed at similar amplitudes.

Me either. Especially late at night when I feel like jamming, AmpliTube is amazing. Sometimes you just need to play ya know? :D

Sorry for the terribly-worded part of my post - yes of course there's a phase button for each mic, in case that was confusing. A phase KNOB was what had been mentioned previously. Though in retrospect I'm not really sure it would give as much flexibility in the current setup to really be 100% effective.

Could it be added as FR for AT4 at least to get "individual MIC outputs" or at least a separate panel where I can mess with the EQ of a mic?

A custom cabinet IR loader was also a common FR IIRC.

Would the waves in phase plugin, help, whrn moving the mikes around.

as I understand it the request for multi-out has been submitted, thanks for your support of this FR though because I think it's a no-brainer. I also agree on the IR loader :)
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

If I didn't already own AT 3 for specifically metal I'd get:

ENGL emulation (ANGR)
LePou's Soldano
One of IK's Orange amps
Recabinet 3

With that combo I'd be set. Especially the ENGL emulation...I LOVE IT!

I like the "anger" too. Little hard to get the excess "beef" out of though (which is too muddy for many mixes) but it' has creamy OD.

I'd also add the new Slash Marshalls, which are super creamy and use our Soldano of course, but that's more a matter of opinion. :)

Amplitube Metal is awesome.

TSE X50 is where the VST Metal sound is right now:

I adressed this months ago to either of the IKM representatives. Dunno anymore which, but I think it's just essential stuff.

Let's look at it from a technical perspective. We have like 10-12 different mics now, all with their own characteristic sound. All good and fine if we can mix and match two mics (plus a stereo pair of random mics with a room sound), but we can only do so much with them. Basically only: distance, position, blend and phase inversion.

But I miss the capability to mess with them further. And by that I mean EQ. Let's say I want a C414 since it's fairly balanced on a 4x12 off-center, then blend it with a RE-20 just for the lowend. Currently I can only blend it in terms of volume shift, but not in terms of frequencies. Adding an EQ post the mics is global, not mic specific.

I remember own crazy experiments where I used three mics on a 4x12 cabinet, a marshal Tube head and a medium sized room. We used an electret condenser at pretty much full range, an Envoice Dynamic Mic for the upper frequencies and a C414 for lowend and "room" (40cm away from the cabin). Then we blended them with EQ and individual volume, routed to a mono channel and recorded that one instead of each individual mic.

Then again, I'm using the stock AT3 Custom Shop stuff (which was with AT2 Duo and SVX Uno).

Something I mostly can not(!) do with 99% of available emulations. Unless I use two cabins, no room mics and one mic each. But the routing matrix in AT3 is limited.

Wait, do you mean the AT3 ANGER amp? Or something else?
Else... isn't one of LePou's hi-gain amps also based upon ENGL?

Then again, I pretty much only use (in PODfarm) the DualThreadpate (Mesa Boogie) or the Orange one, and as individual heads the SimulAnalog Marshall or Soldano. Didn't dive that much into LePou yet.

Though personally I still like Line6's limited cabinet/mics better than AT3. Don't know why - maybe AT3 is just too clean?

I guess AT Metal isn't too dated to give a good coattail ride! LOL... Don't ruin the opportunity with a pertinent megapost, Compy, please! :)
