IMHO:There is absolutely no way IK is going to release a 64 bit version 2 at this point. I don't think it matters how many people ask for it. They are so far into version 3 development that the last thing on their minds is rewriting the current (ancient) version.

IK probably dragged long enough for people to leave them behind when switching over to 64bit. Certainly did for me. Ya miss some patches here and there but they're essentially out of my system at this point.

Where's the fish option?
Seriously, if making a 64 bit version of Sampletank 2 - maybe released as "unsupported beta" - doesn't take too much time, then why not? But if they are close to finish Sampletank 3, then I think it would be a waste of resources.
Anyway I suspect that making a 64 bit version of Sampletank 2 is not a simple task, otherwise they probably would have released it years ago, instead of talking about Sampletank 3.
I'm still working at 32 bits, but I hope to switch soon to 64 bits and it would be nice to be able to use Sampletank without any bridge (though I don't use Sampletank that much, so I could use it bridged)...
I hope to see Sampletank 3 soon... hopefully while my jam points are still valid!

edit: let me simplify my response. Agreed.lotus2035 wrote:The 32bit version of Sampletank was always a buggy piece of shit anyway. They never even bothered to fix that version.

Replaced my DAW 4 or 5 years ago and never bother to install ST XL or SonicSynth 2. Aroudn 2 1/2 years ago there was a big Xpansion sale or group buy and I bought those, got online and downloaded the latest ST and SS versions and installed it all on my DAW. 6 months later I replaced the DAW and once again had no desire to put ST or SS back on.
Now I go to IK Multimedia and look at the home page. No mention of ST2. The push is iPhone and iPad apps. It looks as if IK does not care about ST2. I share that feeling. To me it always sounds more like a 90's ROMpler.

All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

As much as I'd like to see a 64 bit version, I must say... that's 100% true. It was unusable for me for so long I finally ditched it and haven't used it in any project in years. I still have the license though, so I think it would be a nice trip down the memory lane to see an actually stable 64 bit version.lotus2035 wrote:The 32bit version of Sampletank was always a buggy piece of shit anyway. If they go back and try to fix v2, then they will never get v3 out the door!
My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Unify = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.
