There's a lot of bach chorales and classical chord progressions, about 300 i think. There are options to convert them into major and minor and remove dupicate chords etc so you can edit them.

I use tonespace to record my own in and you can record midi files from your daw. 8)

VitaminD wrote:It does look interesting to me too. I hope they release a trial version, if only to test the functionality in my host. Most (all so far) of these arp style plugins don't function in Orion, and there doesnt' seem to be any effort to change that on the developer's part.
I remember having no problem with Orion and Kirnu and another arp I don't remember. I don't remember exactly how to set it up since I don't use Orion anymore but you insert the arp like an instrument, then you insert your synth and there's an option to "receive midi from" that you must choose. Try to experiment and ask in the official forum. If you really can't find anything I'll download the demo and tell you exactly, but try yourself 1st.
Are you sure it didn't also play the notes in the synth being arpeggiated? That is the main issue I have had.. I can get Kirnu and other arp plugins to function in Orion, however the notes generated by the arp AND the initial notes in the synth controlled BOTH get played back.

I wish Richard @ synapse would make MIDI plugins function a bit more smoothly.. :(
Ok, I've just download the demo of Orion. Don't know why I sold it, I played 5 minutes with it and already had the basics for a solid track....

Anyway, there's two things you must be sure to set correctly for this to work:

1) On the option for the SYNTH you must choose: "Receive MIDI From Generator>" and select your arp.

2) On the option for the ARP you must choose: "Generator Settings..." and for the Automation Type select "MIDI CC" instead of "VST Parameters". (don't ask me why)

That's it! Just input your notes into the piano roll of the arp! If you still need more help I'll do a quick video, let me know.
Thanks. But that doesn't resolve the issue. There appears to be a bug in Orion where it plays both the chord/notes Chtulu is generating as well as the notes for the keys firing the Chtulu notes. It does this for any arpeggiator so its not a Cthulu problem but an Orion problem.

Yeah try it, it's really easy with the learn function and tonespace, only takes a couple of minutes to record a bunch of chords. :)

Too bad, tonespace is 32 bit only. Won't play in my daw.

I wonder why a chord player like tonespace is missing in cthulhu, really. Would be perfect if this was all doable in one plugin.
Finally!

Has anyone had any luck using this plugin in Maschine standalone? I make all of my music this way and the limitations of the MIDI routing has meant most of these ARP/Chord generators don't play nice.

I was wondering if anybody managed to get it working nicely? Racking my brain trying to figure out a way.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Yeah you have to use jbridge. I hook em up in Patcher in FL Studio using it's built in bridge then i can record stuff into Cthulhu and Maschine.

@PSSNGR no way within Maschine but someone suggested running Cthulhu in savihost and routing it into Maschine that way. :)

Is the price going up any time soon?

Now it says 'demo', and how do you do the drag and drop?

Yeah, oops.. I saw that just after posting here. its a bitmap mistake on my Win32 'release' compile (though it is not running as a demo) I've fixed that now, so if you like, you can re-download and that should go away!
how do you do the drag and drop?
depends on arp or chords drag.. the how-to descriptions are directly below the download link in the forum!

Eventually, if/when I make significant additions to Cthulhu e.g. 1.5 or 2.0, but nothing immediate! Updates are always free.

So you click the monster and drag? I don't get anything when doing that, I do have a chord slot selected. I tried in Live and Studio One.

worked for me in live, x64 win7. Loaded up a chord preset, pressed a key on my keyboard to pick a chord, then click on the monster and drag to a clip slot. If you want the arp output then alt/option+click on the A-L slots for the arp preset you want and drag n drop

OK, I have it working in Live 8, Live 9 didn't work. This is 64x Win 8 running 32 bit host.
