cool info!

What did it sound like? The Pulse was cool but had a bit of a 'hard' sound to it...would be cool if P2 was a bit warmer...

Aiynzahev wrote:If they do this right it's going to be one of the better options out there imo. I love the original pulse but it's a very specific sound. I made some sounds on the old Pulse that I've literally never heard again. I should never have sold it.
Waldorf told me at the 2012 Winter NAMM that it would sound exactly like the Pulse 2 only with a better output section. I've had a Pulse Plus for years, I love that synth.

It actually might be: oscs are analogue, filters are analogue, amps are analogue.

Actually this should be right with one exception:
The oscillator seem to be a mix of VCO (standard waveforms) and DCo (more complex ones. At least this is how Frederic seemed to explain it.

Nope. :D

And not to mention he knows what he's talking about too! :)

Beta testing should start soon (finally...) and release seems to be planned around August or September.

There is no exact date yet. It could be before or after 17th September.

Most factory sound will be done during the Beta test.
The Alpha version at the Musikmesse had less than 20 sounds AFAIK.
Anyway most changes are at the fir, ware and the presets. The hardware part should not really have changed.

€499 is just way, way too much money for a rehashed synth with that little knobbage control.

Maybe at €299, but they're pricing it close to the MS20 mini, and about the same as a Minibrute.

Madness. :nutter:

Nothing "mad" about the price.

I have used it at the Musikmesse and it is even easier to use than a Blofeld.

There was also a clever feature when entering the name of a patch you want to save. The name is split into two parts and for each part you got one knob for each letter of the name.

The Pulse 2 got 3 Oscs, Hard Sync, Ringmod, an arpeggiator, a multimode filter, filter drive (different modes), up to 500 presets slots and lost of other features.
With the paraphonic mode (works only for one Osc) you could even play polyhonix sounds.

The oscillators use a combination of VCOs and DCOs AFAIK. There are some special waveforms, e.g. one with multiple saws.

The display could display more than only text. For example you get all 8 mod matrix slots at one page.

specs are here:

The price is fine, it can do a lot of things Minibrute and miniMS-20 cannot do. Preset memory, for example. Paraphony, as well.

Sometimes I wish I would still use hardware but I simply dot have space for it anymore, otherwise I would get this. The old pulse was pretty beefy IMO!
