Possibly a 6 string baritone bass...tho i think its a bit much to spend for such little use.

I personally want a nice semi-acoustic.

I'm simply into the natural style-- plastic in shades, brass, gold, (black)chrome, spalted birds eye fiddleback bodies and necks finished clear, pearl abalone wood dots--
that kind of thing. I like beautiful guitars whatever make they are!

buy a loaded strat or tele body on ebay and get a warmoth bari conversion neck for around 200 ;)

First thanks to Uncle E for shipping it so well. Thanks.

So I should report on my new Fishman unit. It is good. Not as all-powerful as I thought it would be, and there is certainly an effect of us guitarist cavemen going "what is this sorcery?" when it is actually not THAT great.

I think Fishman has it almost right, but the software is just... AWERR%$@QT$QRGEFVDASV. It could improve a lot. Hardware wise too -- the curvature on the pickup is not so friendly for modern guitars with wider fingerboard radius, and sensitivity can jump quite a bit. I am using cobalt strings from EB, so maybe that has to do with something.

It tracks well, but software, again, is @#$R#!@%!$^!#!!. Does it worth the money? Hell yes. But it's fiddly. The idea of attaching it to bottom strap point is OK if it didn't use weak magnets and ultimately adhesives, and the fact is if you use it on Tune-O-matic bridge, it will really screw up your action as it's too thick.

I am making some Diversion patches for this unit, as it can sound really nice since VCO and VCF bending can get quite crazy and natural. Yes, this thing does handle bending rather well. I don't really see it getting better unless you install motion sensors.

But probably will sell the Komplete Elements, Sampletank, and Studio One that came with it. Because I have like three copies by now. But progression is nice option -- now I can upgrade to Notion!

It is also a good workflow I like to blend signal and mess with Melodyne on audio channel and create some depth in the sound. Also, you will need to adjust your playing style a lot -- I play really disciplined right hand a la Robert Fripp, and the pickup gets in the way. I will have to pull my right hand a bit.

On the other hand, my half-round strings arrived for my fretless! Now it sounds half decent, although I sound nowhere close to Jaco yet. I would like to try some boutique flatwounds but I think it's the pickup and electronics -- it just doesn't pack enough punch. The sound is decent but ultimately disappointed in D'addario's workmanship here. You would think if you want a coated line, you would want to coat half-rounds because they are so uneven. But no. The strings are little too tough and sticky.
It's all about the wavelets. I dream of the perfect additive synthesis.

Joe Morgan of Morgan Amps is an amazing boutique builder whose blown up incredibly in the last few years. He's now selling almost as many amps as Bad Cat and, since his team consists of himself and maybe two other guys, he's literally working 19 hours a day trying to keep up with the demand. If your idea of the ultimate gigging amp is a channel switching Vox clean/Marshall distortion 20 watter, you need to check out Joe's stuff.

If you're looking to get your music mixed with a super high fidelity, world class, European kind of vibe at a relatively down-to-earth price, he's absolutely the one to go to.

My friend Keith Armstrong is Chris Lord Alge's second engineer and a fantastic mix engineer in his own right. If you want your songs to get the CLA sound but can't afford CLA himself, Keith will get you there for a tiny fraction of the price.

Kind words and very true! I suppose as hard as it is to make a living involving music some honest mouth to mouth in the end will be beneficial to all.

It's great indeed to see people put love and dedication in their work, rather compromising on profit than on quality. In my opinion it's something that shows true craftmanship and cannot be compromised.
