Can someone advice me to find free (not only demo)sequenser which is best for kids (11-12years old) to start making dance music. It should be easy to learn and easy to teach too. I think Mulab could be one choice, what do you think?

Give me any potential ones, please

Thanks guys

LMMS should be pretty easy to learn. :) Lots of tutorials for that on YouTube too.

Try Reason. Easy to use and scalable. You can get the fullworking demo for free from their website http://www.propellerheads.se/download/ (http://www.propellerheads.se/download/)

Reason is not free.

Get yourself a copy of Computer Music Magazine, it'll give you a good plethora of free stuff. Again not free but a few bucks.

I just checked out LMMS and it's really come a long way!

You also might want to consider some of the apps out for the iPad if you have one of those. Korg Electribe and lots of other whiz-bang musical gadgets to be had there.

Sony Acid has a starter version that has a pretty good price and lots of content:

+1 on the Computer Music magazine purchase. They frequently have good 'getting started' issues with lots of free and trial content.

The free version of MuLab is great.

Otherwise, especially for kids, I would recommend the Magix Music Maker...costs not that much and your kid gets instant access to thousands of loops...

I'm not that happy with LMMS - seems to be a bit clumsy IMO...

REAPER - FOR KIDS??

That's like recommending a harvester for a small garden...

It should be FREE cost at all. So Mulab free maybe or studio one free? Which one is easier. I should also myself learn that before I teach. Have learned only Ableton live and recently Sonar x2. So Im still waiting for your opinions. Thx anyway replies already got.

Post

there is also Podium Free too to try out. Imthink it just uses a single core of the cpu and thats why its free .

Post

i would recommend MuLab free, or Podium Free.

both are fantastic!

Studio One Free can also work well, although it doesn't come with a sampler AFAIK.
