To go there - really go there - you've got to build your own in Reaktor. But it's really hard, because you have to anticipate (and realize) every single modulation point at every module and implement it.

I am not a super builder, I admit. Some of the building is easy, a lot of it is beyond me.

One of the biggest limitations is MIDI itself, because a Buchla is almost anti-MIDI.

Tassman is powerful and sounds great, but personaly the grapical interface is a bit disturbing if you need to spend some hours twisting knobs and wiring modules.
But is a great tool

Buchla might be one of the most MIDI friendly Modular systems out there. While Reaktor's Snapshots are a bit similar to the 200e's preset system, I would say that Aalto is more similar because of how Buchla keeps audio and modulation signals separate (tinijax vs. banana plugs).

I would still say that (while the sound is quite different) ACE and Bazille are the most Serge like because of their patching flexibility and the ability to use some functions differently depending on if they are processing audio or control signals.

I'm with Justin on this. I spent some quality time a couple weeks ago with a couple Buchla systems; they're surprisingly MIDI friendly.

If you have Live and Max4Live check out the encoderaudio stuff, some nice clones of Buchla modules

Buchla is all about wavefolding so have a look at Melda MWavefolder, its free.
Or it's big brother MMultiWavefolder.

And of course the one that gets mentioned every time one of these 'Buchla VST' threads pops up is Madrona Labs Aalto

Reaktor Blocks would be the virtual answer to all your Buchla needs. Class leading sound quality and audio rate modulation. Comes with an excellent set of west coast modules which don't try to hide their source of inspiration, and there's more in the user library.

No but some aspects can be reproduced.
I'm not into programming it but I thought that link can give you an idea.
I got Mother 32 as an entry into EuroRack and it's an expensive adventure. The Buchla is steep!
