So, IncarnateX, the general theory is that you need to use a stereo headphone out, and record it back in through the stereo inputs. You just need to get the cabling that allows for this (aside from the audio interface that is...) Is that the gist of it?
Everything I use now is Audiobus capable, but for apps that aren't Audiobus or IAA capable, this could be really useful.

Got the cables for that but the impression from the Xewton link is that it may not be necessary when you use the UCA202 by the camera connection kit. Seems that you are able to both send and receive without further use of cables. It will be useful for instance when top notch synths like iTuttle is released with neither AB/IAA nor ACP. Developer has promised to work on this, but meanwhile I would love to record it with no need for PC.

Interesting! I had no idea about the capability of the UCA202! I too am interested in the iTuttle--sounds like it is pretty good! However, I'm using an iPad 2 right now, so I have a feeling it will be a lot like a 486 trying to run Diva. 
But it's pretty interesting nonetheless!

I am on iPad2 as well and have no problems with the free iTuttle. However, the dev had problems applying AB and at the same time preserve sound quality, so he made a choice.
