EDIT: i even got another $10 off and only paid $29 for the upgrade. :)[/list]
How did you get a $10 coupon? Did AAS send you an e-mail?

-Sam
Click on 'Pricing and upgrades'.

Hm...I did. I'm still getting $39 US. Was I supposed to do something else besides adding the upgrade and validating? I don't see a mention of a $10 voucher.

Try this link location to the upgrade at the special price:

Sorry, still doesn't work. I validated my SN and it gave me the following:

Total: US$ 39.00

Now authorized and installed.

First impression: Very small GUI :o

Damned gas! I just bought the upgrade without even trying the demo, as I really wanted 64 bit support (I hated usign a bridge) and the price was really nice!

Lucky you :D

You will nevertheless need this page: http://www.applied-acoustics.com/unlock/
I sure will and thank you very much for the link.

Btw, does it replace version 1? Soundbanks bought for v1 will work in v2? I am at work now so cannot try to answer my own questions but I do trust you guys :-)

Doesnt look like it, differnet patch bank file formats :(

After the glut of near-perfect analog emulations this really has to be beyond amazing or have something unique to get my attention.

Adding a compressor, limiter and some guy's signature sounds doesn't strike me as attention-grabbing. No new waveforms or processes? Variable triangle? Ringmod? Analog modelled wavefolder? Cuddly toy?

I have always wondered about Ultra Analog, though. It gets a lot of good word and I've never checked it out (let's face it, I don't need another synth, let alone another oldschool analog-style one).

I've checked it out, many times, and I'm still wondering. I would say that, measured by today's standards, it's *fine*, but nothing to write home about (especially if you own the you-know-whats). And I would have expected *much* more from a version 2 - this doesn't even qualify for a 1.5.

Seems to use more CPU than the old version.
Low CPU would be its selling point compared to the likes of Diva, Synthsquad et al

That is strange. I love the sound of Ultra-Analog. I've got probably, 8 or 9 commercial banks for it - Starlight, Angelicals etc.

Why would they make a v2 and kill all the sounds from v1? If it's a completely new synth, incomptaible with v1, it should have been called something else and not UA v2.

EDIT: There are links to v1 soundbanks on the page with it.

$29 is a great upgrade price and totally fair. They added some improvements with new FX, updated the GUI...and 64bit...that alone is well worth $29. just bought it sight unseen. I love the way this synth sounds even though its kind of simplistic.....it just "sounds" good.

It's still early in the testing, take nothing for granted yet.

Too me the VA2 looks like VA1 shoehorned into the AAS Player format.

So as AAS Player can read VA1 patches, I would expect VA2 can to...

Where are the upgrade features? FX and a GUI-lift?

64bit support since 3 years but anyway still great update for existing costumers.

Yeah, especially for those of us who got it for something like $15 during that audiomidi no-brainer sale. :D
